Lebron Recruits Jawad

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think they have a great case too, and the owners like always will be hesitant to fully open their books to make their case ... but that doesn't change the fact that they're on a collision course towards a lock out as everyone expects the owners to demand fundamental changes to the CBA.

The owner's stance has not changed - and if player agents were at all confident in their position, they wouldn't be advising so many of their clients to opt-out now and lock in and hopefully grandfather their contracts.

Might that actually be a sign they ARE confident in their position? If the players association is confident in their position which is a complete 180 from the owners, of course there is going to be a lock-out. A lock-out will happen because of greedy owners, but a lockout doesn't necessarily mean there are going to be fundamental changes to the salary structure. It might be something owners want, but that's one of those points of contention that they are going to have to give up for smaller victories.

Well I sure am glad that I get to hear about the new CBA and Kevin Durant in a discussion about Lebron trying to recruit HotWad.

In response to the actual topic, go find someone else jerk. You already got Z

Unfortunately, we shall see, but historically the owners have been able to get what they want out out of the player's union. Heck, if the Heat are anywhere as close to good as many fear they will be ... fans might prefer to see the league blown up rather than the Heat winning everything for the next 8 years.

It'll be interesting to see what Stern would rather see happen - a few big market teams dominating with outstanding ratings for the finals or a more competitive league where small market teams have legit shots at obtaining and keeping players, more importantly getting out of horrible contracts. Right now, you're looking at league with a few have's and a bunch of have nots.

Unfortunately, in a league driven by superstars such as the NBA, that will likely always be the reality at least somewhat.

Heat aren't a big market team.
