Lebron Recruits Jawad

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Bulls only made it to Game 7 of the "Eastern Conference Semi-finals" without Jordan that year not the Eastern Conference Finals.

They won 57 games and were still a very good team and considered in contention for a title though. No doubt history proves that Jordan put them over the top, but they still had tallent and some guy who was an ok coach.

In comparison, the Lakers the year that Magic was forced to retire only one 44 games and barely made the playoffs after making it to the finals the year before. Just saying that maybe Magic was more valuable to his team than Jordan was to his....just food for thought.

Thats it, until the cavs are contenders again I want an OKC section in here. Durant is the man for sure. I am officialy jumping on board of OKC as my 2nd favorite team. We can call them the Cavs West.

Who is on board with me?

Stolen team like the Ravens.

Good point, but the entire hypothetical discussion is a moot point. He didn't leave the Bulls, that's why he's a hero.
Jordan's a hero because he won 6 championships, 6 Finals MVP's, 5 regular season MVP's, 1 DPOY, 10 scoring titles and on and on and on... No one framed Jordan's never having left the Bulls as some attribute of his greatness or defining characteristic of his "legacy" until about 8 days ago.

I get your point. But, Seattle didnt have the same reaction as browns fans, and I cant blame Durant for the team leaving. Are you suggesting Durant leave OKC because his owner moved the team?

Point of my post was to correct info concerning the Bulls having made it to Game 7 of the ECF that season without Jordan rather than making it to Game 7 of the semi-finals because there's a huge difference between the two. I see the mistake made all the time. It's like some type of urban legend that wont go way.

There's also a big difference between that Bulls situation and the Cavs. The Bulls had every player back from their '93 title team and added Toni Kukoc. Plus they had Phil Jackson. Continuity is big.

The Cavs are losing Shaq, who was their second scoring uption, Z and, most likely, Delonte. Any team that loses it's best player, starting center and first scorer off the bench would take a huge hit.

I'd like to see what the Lakers do without Kobe, Bynum and Odom. It wouldn't be pretty.

Whats fucked up about this is even beyond his lack of recruiting effort when he was in Cleveland is that if he likes the players here in Cleveland so much then why leave at all...

I know people say it is to win... But I don't buy it... He left for a potential championship is bull shit be cause he at least the same amount of potential to win here IMO...

#6 Left because he is not who he said he was 'the man' fuck being "The King" He was not capable of succeeding under the pressure of being 'the man'

This whole thing just has a bad stench....

Talk to me about Durant when he's truly tempted and tested.

I am liking Durant more and more. He seems to get it. Also like the way OKC has built their roster and the type of players they've brought in.
That being said, I can never root for that team to be successful. They were stolen from a good market where they had been for approx. 40 years by some very sleazy tactics. Any Cleveland fan who watched one of their teams also stolen away can't root for OKC.

As far as LeFraud, as each day passes he proves more and more what a complete douche he is.

Don't have to dislike Durant. I like the guy too. I just dont want to root for OKC. Seattle did keep the colors and name like Browns fans, and there are plenty of fans there. Im sure if the Cavs were stolen in the early 2000s, there wouldnt have been the same reaction as the Browns either. Doesnt mean they dont have thousands of fans.

One positive to come out of the for me as a fan is that it really stripped away any illusions I might have had about the NBA. In the past (especially with Lebron) I have always given guys the benefit of the doubt, assuming that even though they act like complete assholes on the outside, they are probably good guys on the inside and *might* just be misunderstood (ha I know).

Now, I can't root for guys whom I don't think are character guys.

This includes guys like Melo, Lebron, Wade, Kobe in addition to the usual suspects like Rasheed, KG, Kenyon Martin, etc. Can't even root for Delonte anymore after seeing his arrest video and in light of the recent rumors. I feel like with Lebron, I sacrificed a bit of principle as a fan to root for someone because he's good. I don't really want to do that anymore.

Now I have to root for guys like Steve Nash and KD (even though he's young, he seems to have everything right so far). I'll always root for the Cavs, but I can't say I'll ever want them to acquire a player with questionable character again.

I think now I'd rather root for a bad team full of character guys than root for a team that's full of great players but shitty people.

Exactly, just like Magic, Bird, and every great champion before him.

It's always just been a thing that great players stayed with one team. It's part of a legacy that is created with every great athlete.

Great players accepted being great and did what they had to. No one had ever seen what LBJ did before. I highly doubt we'll see it again.

This may be true in the sense that they weren't selling out games and basketball stadiums are smaller than football stadiums, but that doesn't discount the reaction of their fanbase. I suggest you watch the documentary Sonicsgate to see how truly heartbroken those fans were.

No way will I ever root for OKC, I feel bad for seattle. I take it the same people saying they will become OKC fans are Raven fans... RIGHT?

They shouldn't have gotten out of the first round that year. The Cavaliers had Nance, Hot Rod and Daugherty all in street clothes for the playoffs. The Cavaliers trotted out Rod Higgins and Tim Kempton in the playoffs.
