Let it all out. The Cavaliers Rant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
First slump of the year. Next comes the Red Hot Heat...........

Anyone getting the vibe postgame that LeBron is calling out Kevin Love on his defense?

Sometimes I really wonder about Love, it sucks to say, but he plays soft. You can pull whatever numbers to make some kind of claim that Love is actually an okay defender; I just can't deny what my eyes are telling me.

Kevin Love plays faux defense.

Love is really an all-or nothing player. If his offense isn't clicking, his defense is so weak it negates whatever else he's giving you. He's actually an exceptional passer, but we never feature him in any kind of role like that. And when Irving comes back, Love is going to touch it even less.

Everybody including LeBron probably thought Love could fill that Chris Bosh role, but Chris Bosh actually played defense, his shot rarely went cold. Even if Love averages 3-4 more rebounds for his career, I'd still take Bosh because I think those extra stats Love accumulates don't accurately portray how weak he is on the other end of the court.

Tristan Thompson sucks too, you have to wonder if last season's playoffs were the height of his career.

I'm probably overreacting a lot, but this team has no heart. I'm just not comfortable where this is shaking out.

Don't like people like Kevin Pelton push the lie that Kevin Love is a good defender. That's bullshit. Always has been, always will be.

We've had the Bosh v Love debate on here many times, I'm sure you know my arguments there... I think it's very close between the two, but I'd take prime Bosh personally. Either way, that's neither here nor there really.

In the context of the Cavs, what Love gives us is a a very capable offensive weapon, and a rebounding phenom.
The problem is that he's simply not being utilized properly. This is Year 2. You can't really blame Love because he's getting the ball out at the fucking perimeter. It's a joke how he's being used. Embarrassing actually.

This team seems to hate each other. It looks like they are being fake.

How are the Heat playing their 13th home game in their 18th game?

They've actually looked like crap for the most part when I've watched them. They have major issues themselves. Dragic on a max is way worse than Thompson. At least Thompson does something at an elite level. They are going to have a payroll like ours next year if they retain Wade and Whiteside. They'll have 3 max players+Wade, with no outside shooting. They are a badly constructed team.

Ugh....

"I told Coach I was ready, but keep those guys in, see what they can do [...]."
- Kevin Love, to Coach from the bench

"At this point, we are who we are as players [...]."
- Mo Williams, to reporter after asking why Mo sucks at defense and if he'll improve

"It's my things [...] I keep them with me."
- Mozgov, to reporter after asking Mozgov what's wrong with him this season

"I mean, I had 15 in the first [...]. I don’t know what else you want me to do."
- J.R. Smith, to reporter after asking why he didn't score much anymore after the first

This team thus far is just full of hungry and aggressive $%#!^&* winners that want to participate in every second of a championship run. </sarcasm>

I feel awful for LeBron.

Is this real? J.R couldn't have said that? I know he's used to losing from his days as a Knick but that mindset is poisonous. What else you want me to do?

LeBron is surrounded by losers. I only truly trust Kyrie and he can't even stay healthy. At the end its always the same. LeBron standing alone staring up at the mountaintop.

Talent means nothing if you can't put it all together and play up to your potential. There's a lot of players playing far below their capabilities.

I hate to see those panic quotes. Even with uneven play, does anyone think this team healthy has more than 1 loss? I don't.

You can't lose the finals in December, but you can lose your head and let it get ugly in the locker room. We should beat most of these teams even without Kyrie and Shump, but 52 or 62 wins really makes no difference. It's either come together when complete and look like we hope or it's going to fail miserably and we'll fire coaches and make a trade.

I've heard Riley straight up say they were that Game 6 win in Boston when Lebron went off down 3-2 from breaking that big 3 up.

They lost to a legit bad team in that first finals(by finals standards) and almost bricked the ECF the next year if not for Lebron's 6th game heroics. And not 1 of their big 3 ever missed one playoff game those first two years.

I have faith this will be humming along when bench players are on the bench and kyrie is crossing over fools and Shump is out on the perimeter up in someone's grill. This is unpleasant, but June is 6 months away. It needs to get better, but it's not time to panic, just work
