Let it all out. The Cavaliers Rant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He’s the same player he was at Utah. He’s not the kind of player that can carry a team deep in the playoffs. I don’t care who we rebuild around, because Mitchell isn’t a winner.

Have you seen the teams he has played on

Yes let's totally blame Mitchell who put up 50 on a bum knee and not:

a) our mental midget PG who committed TO after TO in the last 5 minutes of a close game (again)
b) our franchise PF who is a John Henson clone on offense
c) Max Strus, who is resembling Sasha Pavlovic
d) our 6th man, who looks like he would rather go through a root canal than give a shit on the court...complete chucker is who he is and who he will ever be
e) our top 5 pick (over Tyrese Haliburton) who is scared shitless to shoot in a close game (with good reason)
f) our coach who can't tell his ass from a hole in the ground

Still letting rebounds go, backcourt having to go 2v8, disappearing supporting cast, multiple guys being unplayable.

JBB at minimum must go.

Altman will have to make the moves of his life: LeVert + whoever else/whatever else outside of the 2 guards and 2 bigs (don't see a trade happening) add up to a 6'7" up guy that can move. Go to the Suns scraps if you have to.

No more gambling on Dean Wade making it beyond April.

No one shorter than 6'7" allowed in the lineup beyond those guys that isn't a PG.

And if Tyler Smith or Tristan Da Silva is out there at #20, pick em and bring up Travers and Emoni.

This team must lead with offense next season. MUST. Hopefully it's a Boston Blowout that sends the message home

You think we're winning Game 7, which tips off in less than 40 hours? With Mitchell's bum knee and Allen's bum ribs and Garland's bum brain?

People are arguing the wrong thing. It may not be Garland or Mitchell. If Mitchell forces his way out this offseason it may be Garland or a mystery box. If Mitchell does demand a trade. I may hope the team blows it up completely. Even if Mitchell agrees to an extension I have no idea what they can do to get better. Teams lacks assets. Nothing against Mitchell but I think they went all in on the wrong player at the wrong time. And it's looking like it back fired on us. Maybe if we fired JB and had a competent coach it could have been a different story. Sadly it's just been a massive disappointment all around.

I agree with all of this. Like I'm not sure what we do going forward. We don't have the assets to find a player to put next to Mitchell as a 1a/1b. I also don't know what you do with the rest of the roster if Mitchell doesn't sign an extension.

Like I would be tempted to trade Mitchell if he doesn't sign an extension then let Garland play well by himself then sell high. Then give Mobley the runway to see what he can turn into. Figure out what we have with him and then use the assets to build around him or as a piece.

Remember, the Cavs don't control their pick to 2030. I think replacing Mitchell with a 3/C type at wing and using Okoro as Garlands hammer would be smart. Continue developing Mobley at 4. His 3 ball definitely flashed this year. We saw tonight he just isn't a center in general. Just isn't physically strong or has the right center skill set.

The only reason it was the wrong time is because every other player who they thought was on a positive trajectory (except for JA) has come up short, failed to meet expectations.

In my mind you keep Mitchell at all costs. And JA. These are the only 2 playoff worthy players on this squad at the moment. And every other player is on the block for the right price.

It can't just be JBB who goes, Koby has to go too.

Koby got high on his own supply and preamturely decided Garland and Mobley were superstars. Koby locked us in for $90 million in multi year contracts on Strus and Niang. Koby drafted Okoro #5. And Koby stuck with JBB. How can you trust him to try to undo his own fuckups?

I take it all back if we win on Sunday and somehow manage to look good against the Celtics, ok.

Players didn't develop because JB Bickerstaff can't develop talent. Also JA was down right terrible in the playoffs a year ago. He was good this series before getting hurt. But if he can have a quick turn around in terms of playoff performance why can't Mobley or Garland next season?

But most importantly on Mitchell. If he doesn't sign an extension they have to trade him. And even if they do sign him we can't get another star to go with him and most importantly is paying a 6-1 soon to be 28 year old SG who relies on athleticism but appears to have a bad knee the smartest thing to do?

I truly think the majority of the blame for the Mitchell trade being a failure should fall on Koby and JB Bickerstaff. With majority of the blame going to Koby because he's the one who pulled the trigger on the trade. Went all in too soon. He also stuck with Bickerstaff despite players not developing and the team having no system in place. I don't know why people are afraid to say the trade didn't work out. We got 2 years of a superstar and subpar results.

Nothing has changed since the day of the trade, it always came down to this... If Donovan wants to stay or extend, you max him out and thank your lucky stars, then do anything and everything to build around him.

If he wants to go, get the biggest haul you can. But besides Donovan and JA, there isn't a single player on this roster that I would call off limits, if the price is right and if you have a plan.
