Especially when he walks down the floor after he misses a shot.Uhhh maybe because LeBron is the only one on the team who consistently plays defense?
Unfair assessment. This isn't like a movie where people have 7th gear. We're missing 4 of our main guys. We weren't missing James Jones or Cunningham.
You ask yourself this, if GS loses Thompson, Green, and 2 more of their lackeys at the same time, would they get to 16-0?
Despite missing the 4 people, Didn't we take the lead in the 4th quarter ? Also if you do look at the players who did play, It is not like they are scrubs (Maybe Cunningham has a case cos he is a rookie who is unproven). We have enough skill and experience in the team to put this one to bed but we did not. The defense just gave up. That is what upsets me. We have what it takes to finish the job but we did not.
If we lost enough players that we did not even have a chance to win then you have a valid point. Last year's NBA finals was a great example of this, But this game is a clear indication that there is alot more work to be done.
I can't really rant about injuries. It's like the Cavs are still paying the toll for such a shitty start last season and them having to exert extra energy just to get a 2 seed. Tristan seems like the only teflon player on the roster.
I really wanted this team to come in completely healthy and do what the Warriors are currently doing because I feel like when healthy they are very capable of that level of dominance.
Bruh we'll win like 15 regardless of the opponent every night if we're healthy. This is the basketball god's way of using sliders against us. Turn the Cavaliers' brittleness to 80 please.
Gilbert needs to moneyhat Pheonix's trainers.
I don't agree with it but what choice do you have? The team really had limited options with too many factors against them. All you can do is be glad because all of this is happening in November.
- Defense gave up because of fatigue.
- Losing our defensive anchor didn't help.
- We knew Mo has really bad D even the day before we signed him.
- People like Dellavedova and Shumpert are sorely missed.
- The rotation due to injury this game was crazy.
Defense gave up a lot at the beginning of the 4th quarter coming off the rest after 3rd quarter so it cant be fatigue physically. Defense is a collective game - and if we are letting in open layups then there is something deeply wrong. Either someone messed up their assignment or we were out-coached for that play or we just gave up on a play. The first and the last options are mental.
And talking of rotation, The # of players we had available for rotation we have for this game is way more than the rotation we had when we faced golden state and we fought the warriors better with that weakened lineup.
I feel out fundamental difference comes in the fact that you feel the players we had on the court were not enough to beat the Raptors and that once we get our healthy players back. While I agree with you in the fact that we will be better once our injured players come back into the rotation, I feel the players we have were good enough to finish the job today and we did not.
