Let's settle it--Wally's contract: What to do with it?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The wizards won't trade Butler! he is the guy the Wizards will want to keep to rebuild around, the only guy I could see being available is Jamison, and I don't I'm too fond of him being on the team as there are better options out there..

If this thread continues down the fantasy route, it will be closed.

As for the subject matter. The sooner everyone realises that Wally's greatest attribute to this team is his contract the better. My opinion wouldn't waver whether we were 20-0 or 0-20. Wally is an ending contract which is very valuable on the trade market. We have a small window of opportunity to keep this team elite whilst not having room to sign anybody significant. That window is using Wally's contract to its greatest effect. Letting it expire gets us nowwhere. The Cavaliers need to be looking past this impressive record when evaluating our future moves. Having LeBron on the free market with our starting bigs either gone or near redundant without another core piece is placing us in a vulnerable position.

Dont fall into the trap off looking too far into our record and believe Wally is a significant part of it. We need to look past the present and look to where we will be this time next year heading into the summer of 2010.

agree completely, records don't win championships.. as you see with many teams, most notably the dallas mavericks in recent years, and my thoughts exactly.

More than one team we spoke to suggested that the rampaging Cavs, widely expected to move Wally Szczerbiak's $13.8 million expiring contract before the February deadline to make their team even stronger, could well decide to stand pat, with team chemistry in such a good place after the offseason acquisition of Mo Williams and with Szczerbiak and Ben Wallace looking far more comfortable now than they did last season after their in-season moves to Cleveland. "They're starting to believe they can win it all the way they are," said one Western Conference exec.

Karma why would you close the thread for having fantasy trade ideas? Isn't that the whole purpose of this section?
