This was a tough decision for the Cavs....they weren't sure if/when to send him down. They were mostly concerned because he will be coached by coaches that aren't part of the Cav's organization. Yes, he will get experience, but he will be out of their control to a major extent. Will they play him at the position the Cavs want him to play? Will they train him the way the Cavs want him to be trained? Will they work on the parts of Marty's game that the Cavs see as weaknesses? Will he pick up bad habits? Get hurt? Etc. My understanding is that he will be there for a month.

i don't think there are any players close to his size. i think the minutes will be good for him but he possible could be shooting over guys that can't even get to the ball to block it. it won't be like that in the nba.
i thought he looked great in the summer league. moves his feet, good bb sense a real player but got injured every game. hopefully he has been lifting weights and banging on z in practice.
last good outside shooting center. bill laimbeer. 3 pt range. throw that in the mix and that's really interesting.
i also think that the cavs have been hiding him so teams don't want him as a throw in on a minor deal. we don't have the draft picks to cover our butts in the future.

Monday was Larry Hughes' 27th birthday and the Cavs gave him a cake. It had been tradition for rookie Martynas Andriuskevicius to sing Happy Birthday to players and coaches but Andriuskevicius has been assigned to the Arkansas RimRockers of the NBADL and will play his first game Thursday....

I used to think that as well but have we actually seen real size or strength changes in any young player that can be attributed to Kellers and Benton?
Sasha Pavlovic, Luke Jackson, Anderson Varejao and Drew Gooden all look similar in size and strength as they did last year. James has gotten a bit more defined but you can't credit the Cavs staff with that change.
Now is the time for these younger players to develope their bodies and I really haven't seen drastic changes in most of them.

Because you dont need to add mass...adding mass is something a post player should do, if you are a wing or a guard, you dont need to add mass, you just need to be strong to create positioning. Look at RIP, Reggie Miller etc..look at TMac for that matter..
Post players need mass to hold position, not create it. Although it helps in creation but he will never be a power player in the first place.
Gooden is pretty strong, he doesnt get moved around a lot. Anderson is still pretty young and was out for a very long time with that injury so that curtailed some of his gaining probably.
