Matthew Dellavedova

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Delly was in during our good runs and played well. He hit some shots and played gritty, playoff basketball. He fought through screens and even defended some bigs (dunleavy) and stayed with them. The moment was certainly not too big for him and he played hardnosed defense on Rose, dove for balls and at one point knocked him to the ground.

If the Bulls leave him open, he can hit shots. At the same time, he is not going to waste shots.

He's a useful role player, which is more than Miller, Jones and Marion were for us.

Delly: 9 points (3/8 FG, 2/5 3P), 9 assists, 2 turnovers
Brooks: 4 points (1/8 FG, 0/4 3P), 3 assists, 1 turnover

Remember all the people on this board who wanted a guy like Brooks while constantly saying how awful Delly is? :fingersx:

That airball from Brooks thoooooooooooooo :chuckle:

Good thing about JR coming back is Delly won't have to play as much as he had to tonight. He was dead tired for the last 8 minutes and had no legs on his jump shot late in the 3rd. He plays so hard on defense, get to keep him fresh now.

He's like Danny Green, but the point guard version.

Not all that athletic, but hustles, makes good decisions, plays reasonable D, and knocks down 3s.

Had a lucky game.

Can't wait until he shoots 0/5 and costs us the next game. "But he tries hard!" Can't even defend Noah ffs.

Delly had 9 assists (team-high), 9 points (50% shooting) and played hard. I'd say that's pretty damn solid for a guy on a minimum contract.

Looking at your name, I'm guessing you're either a troll, or Delly fucked your girlfriend in high school.

Troll at work obviously. However as for the other naysayers - the backup PG on a minimal contract plays 35 minutes in a winning playoff game, gets almost 50% of the teams assists and shoots 40% from 3pt land and still they whine like a seven year old girl who has dropped their barbie doll in the mud! Clearly they are less concerned about his actual performance than they are about trying to assert their position. For them it is not about basketball but whether they are right!

Biggest difference with Delly? He started hitting some shots.
He'll have a long career if he keeps banging shots in. 9 BIG points last night.

Never understood the criticism towards Delly. He isn't the most talented but you can't question his heart and effort. And, every championship aspiring team needs that. Also, Delly is improving as a player with each month really.

I think a lot of it comes from when Kyrie was out, and he had to play major minutes, and then he lost the Sixers game, with his fetidness. In more limited minutes, in a more limited role, he's been pretty effective.

I'll say it again. Not elite vision, but great court awareness. Really good at knowing his teammates strengths as well.

People were dogging on his handles last night. And I DID see him get trapped a few times, bringing the ball up.

Otherwise, did a fine job distributing the ball. 9 assists, I did not know. Good for him. He was definitely active out there.
