Matthew Dellavedova

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Given Wall's serious hand injury, I hope that Delly has the chance to bug Beal again. That's been fun in the past.
100% agree.

And considering how shaky Atlanta has looked, and how Paul Pierce has stepped up so huge, it's still not out of the picture that Washington advances.

Very impressed with Delly's toughness. Very tough and strong player and very aggressive. The Bulls aggressively defended him and often fouled him in the process without any call, but he gave it back. Someone locked arms with him (Hinricht) and he looked like he was going to kill him. Not sure if all of his facial expressions and agreesiveness show well on tv, but they do if your watching in person near the court. Remember, he was a boxer.

There was at least one play I think in game 2 where Delly was frustrating Gasol and got Gasol to commit an offensive foul. I think the play was not entirely on air because they were showing a replay at the time, but it seems like that was what happened. I'm thinking maybe Delly and Perkins might be able to take Gasol out of his game some by frustrating him.

Perkins after last game is almost looking like he should be featured in the rotation now, although just maybe 7 to 12 minutes. I think it's easier to put him in too if we have a nice lead.

I can't believe nobody brings up his patented 2 or 3 lobs a game to Tristan Thompson. He is an expert at setting TT up for those lobs. Rarely ever see it fail.

Delly needs to realize that all black men don't look alike. He tried the lob to Perkins.

If Delly can settle back in to shooting 35-40% from three going forward in the playoffs, that will be huge for us. I felt like he missed every shot he took in the Boston series, so it was reassuring to no longer panic every time he took a shot on Wednesday. Let's hope he can regain some consistency from beyond the arc.

He really is a pg too. Most backups are scorers and I don't think that is what we need. He plays great with star players and knows exactly when to pass and when to take the shot. If JR is coming off the bench I WANT Delly out there with him.

Delly is great when surrounded by skilled offensive players. He is like the office manager -- he isn't the star of the organization but he keeps it humming smoothly. You just don't want to rely on him to singlehandedly generate offense.

He was really impressive yesterday. Hitting open shots, distributing, playing defense.

I've said it since the Cavaliers first signed Delly: his game translates to the NBA Playoffs so much better than many of the lightening quick point guards people wanted to replace him.

The kid grew up playing Aussie rules football and boxing, switched to hoops. He was coached in Australia by former Pops protégé and current Philly head coach Brett Brown. He is physical, moves the ball like an industrial conveyor belt, and hits the three ball to provide spacing for the star players. He is a Spurs type player through and through.

And how awesome was it during halftime when Jalen Rose couldn't pronounce his name during an angry rant?

Tough to lose a game when Delly played like that. He really brought it tonight and really has done a solid job all series long.

Honestly, I take back everything I said about this kid this year.

To play the way he's played and to do it against the Bulls in the playoffs with our vets just watching, is 100% commendable.

This kid has earned the right to be on this team, for this and upcoming years.

One thing I think some of the criticisms have overlooked is Delly's age.

I don't know if it is because he's white, or because of how late we drafted him, but I think people just assumed that he had a low ceiling.

I'm not saying he's the next Steve Nash or anything, but he certainly has the possibility to keep developing into the backup PG version of Danny Green.

I don't understand why he only played 16 minutes tonight. 10 points (on 4 shots) and 4 assists (to 1 turnover) is fantastic in such limited playing time. We really should have had him out there longer, especially with Kyrie clearly hurting.

He was outplaying Kyrie, whatever the reason. He should have been in for D at least.

There's definitely a bit of that in regards to the NBA media, even the half decent ones like Zach Lowe. He's tweeting the top players should all be playing 48 minutes, & glossing over the production from Delly & Jones during the playoffs & the other Grantland guys say there's no 3 point depth outside Shump & JR (Delly was good for 14th in the league for 3P% in the regular season)

Is Delly playing well? Best barometer is to check out any Bulls game thread and see the increase in hatred towards him ("Of course this scrub goes off against us", etc, etc)

.....best $800k the Cavs spent all year.
