Now we're starting to see more talks of how Curry only beat himself and how he just didn't hit open shots, especially from Bucher. What's being overlooked is:
1.) Curry may have missed some shots he normally makes, but he makes some crazy shots to begin with. Just because he misses them, doesn't mean they're any less difficult to make.
2.) Delly constantly being in his chest, chasing him around, and being step for step with him the entire time he was in the game only made those shots even more difficult.
3.) While guarding him, Delly made Curry work for almost all of his shots and even made him work while trying to go get the ball. Not sure if Bucher is aware, but fatigue plays a role for a shooter, specifically when you're a PG and you have to work so hard to even get the ball.
4.) Anyone who has played even one game in their life will tell you that a defender that is constantly in your chest, constantly stride for stride with you, and won't leave you alone can be a pest. It takes people out of their game and frustrate the hell out of you.
5.) I don't care how good of a defender you are, you're never going to be perfect guarding an offensive guy (as far as not giving up clean looks goes).
I'm glad we ended up sticking with Delly during the search for a new backup PG. He's built for the postseason and for this team.
