Matthew Dellavedova

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Guy played his heart out, almost literally. Did more than anyone could ask for a backup PG...

Not understanding the hate. He's a BACKUP that had to go head-to-head with Derrick Rose, Jeff Teague, and Steph Curry. And Delly had his moments were he OUTPLAYED each of those guys.

I think those of you who want dribble penetration should find solace in the fact a Haywood for Spiller and Mills trade was mentioned right when San Antonio got eliminated, but we haven't heard them shopped since. It would bring a functional combo guard next to Delly on that second group who compliments each other. You eat Splitter's contract, but he lessens all theinutes on the rest of the skill bigs who were knocked out.

Something positive to think about before you go and beat up your dog.

And the dude barely played tonight as the latest coaching wrinkle, which was a good idea. His replacements did nothing. Why is he to blame?

Want a name of the type of dude you are looking for in a backup/third point guard? How about Leandro Barbosa. He impacted this series even in a situation without injury.

What was needed from the back-uppoint guard, as a hedge against Irving being injured (a predictable possibility), was ball-handling, scoring, passing; i.e. an offensive skill set. The GM obviously knew this, but for whatever reason, could not complete the transaction.

No hate here, he did everything else he needed to do. Ultimately, with hind sight, he probably would have rather had Will Bynum than Kendrick Perkins. But c'est la vie.

Again, Delly is just not the type of guy needed for this role, but he does have a role on the team with his hustle and defense.

I like Mo Gotti.

The same barbosa that has been with 7 different teams? The one who had three great seasons (06, 07, 08) and apart from that has bounced around the league with numbers worse than Delly...he had a couple of good games these playoffs, but so did Delly, but lets not get crazy. Do you think if he had to play 35-40 minutes per game because Curry was injured that they would win the ship?

That would be an amazing, amazing trade. One, those are both functional NBA players, and Splitter would be a decent back-up C. Two, they're only doing that deal to go after LaMarcus, which means he's staying in the West. Shots all around!

I'd take Livingston back in a hurry.

I would too, but then I also think Livingston is the best back-up PG in the league (and yes, better than Thomas, all things considered). After that option, assuming Livingston stays in Golden State, what out there is better? The realistic names I've seen thrown around are guys like Will Bynum and to me, that's not an upgrade.

Sounds great....can never have enough Aussies on the team

Yeah, my science I would love that. We have a lot of deadweight sitting in our bench. Both of these dudes can play quality minutes.

I know that we wanted splitter in that draft that we didn't have a pick because of pax and welsch.

The people saying Golden State depth were good are correct, but remember to look at salaries for both teams. Its,easier to understand why this Cavaliers team overachieved and shouldn't be lambasted while Golden State had role players succeeding in their roles.

But I get it, you are a fan. You are mad. You want to vent and you don't like fact checks.

I want Delly as out 3rd PG. We should see him mostly if there is an injury to Kyrie. Not saying he's a garbage time player but there should be another PG (who can create/score) ahead of him. Norris Cole would be great here.

Delly is great for what he is, but he's not a 38+mpg guy, obviously. Considering Kyrie's injury history, we need a third PG/combo type player. I was hot for Nate Robinson as a scoring punch off the bench type guy. He'd have done a ton for us in this playoff run. We need a ball handling, scoring type guy off the bench, ideally.

LOL...you say, "We should see him mostly if there is an injury to Kyrie"...I thought thats exactly what happened during the finals...

Norris Cole: has playoff figures of 4.5 points/1.5 assist and 1.2 rebounds per game...this is an improvement on Delly? Seriously??

In any Cavs fan's defense, Norris Cole is from Dayton and went to Cleveland State, so opinions may be somewhat biased. :)

he should only be used with a defensive minded line up yet with plenty offense around him.
