Matthew Dellavedova

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It's hard to string enough good words together to describe Delly's contribution tonight. After shaking off the rust last night, he really proved tonight why he may be one of the most integral cog's of this entire team.

What's funny is that nobody outside of the Cavs fan base will have any idea of how impactful he is on a game of basketball. Kid was voted Player of the Game and if you went on stats alone, you would've been so incredibly puzzled.

And that's the magic of Delly. He doesn't let the facade of basketball statistics barricade his influence over a game of basketball.

To alter the words of LeBron, "give me 5 Varejao's & 5 Delly's and I'll be the last guy and we'll be alright."

Between these two and Tristan's increasingly developing team game and work on the glass, I feel pretty good about where our team is going outside the 'big 3.'

I think Delly will be a Cav for a long time, we want him and he seems like a very loyal guy. We gave him his shot as an undrafted FA, he will stick w/ us for that in my opinion.

This guy..... He plays with so much heart, god damn. He took over the game with defense alone, he means so much to this team.

Delly ignited TT which ignited the team. You can tell Delly and TT are team favorites

I heard a rumor he wants to go to the Lakers...

For an undrafted free agent with limited talent and size to even make it the league they have to play hard all the time and make very few stupid plays. That's just to make it and stick around. For a guy to actually get significant minutes on a winning team? They have to play harder than everyone else on the court every night and NEVER make a stupid play. That's him. He never makes a mental mistake and he plays harder than everyone else.

For those who don't quite grasp the effect a guy like Delly has on a team look no further than Dion's post game interview tonight after the Raptor's game where he basically said Delly motivates him verbally and gets him into a rhythm. Admitted he is his "Dr. Phil" on the court. :chuckle:

I hope he's a Cav for years to come.

Hahahahaha, good one. Everyone wants to play for the Lakers, remember? :chuckle:

I can tell you now, he's very loyal. It's the Australian culture ;)

I had to miss this one for some work responsibilities, but nothing about what I'm reading surprises me. No matter what, keep Delly, TT, and Waiters together as the bench mob for a little while and see what Delly can do with these guys. And I said it last year and I'll say it again this year: if Delly isn't a head coach right after retirement, this whole goddamn world is fucked up. Born coach.

I was watching the game and thinking how crazy it was that Delly is now an important piece to a championship contending team after being undrafted. I still remember him playing on our summer league team for the first time.. He's came a long way, awesome to see.
