Mike Pettine

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Summary of my thoughts on the coaching search:

Absolutely shameful debacle by the front office during the process, but the end hire could have been much worse.

Agreed.

Meh, this kind of stuff gets me pumped for our new hire after so much uncertainty.

Overall, I'm still unimpressed after the whole Gase/Quinn thing. Not to mention all the Malazahn talk. I feel like our front office is inept as to realizing they can't just get anyone they want.

Positive thing about Pettine is, I'm a lot more happier hiring him than I was when Chud was hired. Chud was never elite in anything he did or showed improvement as every year passed. The year he leaves Carolina and they become a #2 seed.

I'm wary, but happy on the hire, just unimpressed.

Wait... what does "meh" mean? That makes it seem like you are not pumped.

Farmer has opted to stay.

That's a positive I guess.

Congratulations to Mike Pettine for becoming Cleveland Browns new Head Coach. Hate to see him leave

The best news about this hire is the guy is an NFL veteran. Not an up-and-comer who rose through the ranks in 2 years.

This OC position is a big one. Any ideas?

I think Kubiak would be a good fit. Unsure how well he can utilize the TE position though. His offenses had a lot of balance with heavy run but plenty of play action passing. Would be killer with Gordon. That's only if we can get some maulers on our O-line and get a starting RB and QB....a lot to ask for.

Agreed.

The meh, was morely that I've been pumped up before over hires we don't expect only to be disappointed. I enjoy articles and stats that make our new hire look great to us, but I guess I just have been jaded plenty of times before.

My focus is who our OC will be, and DC second. I'll get interested and jump on the bitch-kitten train eventually, I'm just slow to coming around to this guy after this long search, which didn't make us look good at all.

Banner is the one in charge, not sure if I trust this guy with our franchise.

Did a damn good job with Kiko Alonso this year.

I'm content with the hire.

Really looking forward to the OC and DC search now.

Did... Banner show a sense of humor with the 3 Stooges reference?
