Looks like Kluber has made some strides. Have to wonder, with Barnes' rough start (and possibly still working through the knee rehab) if Kluber wouldn't get the first recall for a starter. He has pitched the best of Barnes, McAllister, and Slowey.

Oh, and Cord Phelps added two more doubles today. This guy is pining for another shot at the bigs. Hopefully some team sees what he is doing and makes a move to give him a shot.

Jesus Aguilar also looks like he has made some serious strides. I wonder how quickly they will push him if he is hitting like this in another month or two. Bryson Miles is also starting to warm up, he is a guy that I think could also shoot up the ranks if he finds his stride. An interesting mix of skills.

I'm liking what Chris Ray is doing at Triple-A.

He had 33 saves with a 2.73 ERA in 2006 with the Baltimore Orioles. He has some experience.

If somebody like Dan Wheeler starts to struggle, swap him with Ray. I'd like to give him another chance at the Big Leagues.

First to go will be Ascencio.

And the first in line, IMO, would be Hagadone.

Like Chris Ray though...good dude

So they will dump the guy who has better #s across the board to retain Wheeler? I just don't see that happening.

Better numbers?

Its the second week of the season...How much stock do you want to put in ERA right now.

May as well cut them both if we care about their current stats.

Haven't Indians fans learned to not trust AAA stats yet?

Well, seeing as one of them has to be cut to keep Hagadone- that is what we have to go by. And it isn't just ERA- it is every single stat category. And Ascencio has had only one 'bad' outing, in a mopup inning against KC. Not to mention Ascencio has actually been used for multiple innings, which is kind of what the last man in the pen's role is, to be the long man. I really don't see how you don't keep Ascencio, who would be picked up if he gets sent down. Wheeler may be, but then you still have Accardo and Ray to be the 'veteran who at some point in his past got hitters out with garbage' to go to.

Wheeler has gone scoreless in four of five outings as well, which again is why his numbers are inflated (one bad outing - 3ER).

I keep all the pen guys I can, Hagadone will probably bounce up and down depending on injury.

Derek Lowe's gonna look good in AAA in a couple weeks. Might not even be a rehab stint!

Derek Lowe wouldn't go to AAA , if anything happens to him he would be released.

Why are we talking about Derek Lowe going to the minors after 1 bad start..?

Oh, this is an Indians related thread, people talk illogically...
