Mychel Thompson waived

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think it'll be cool to see Eyenga and Gee with their length and athleticism defending the perimeter .vs. such a perimeter oriented team like the Heat.

Would love to see TT as well, but ... oh well.

It could also get very frustrating. Eyenga definitely has the raw gifts to defend top perimeter guys, but seems to lack all the other necessary qualities(bball iq and desire to start with). While I think Gee is a little better suited to d up SF's, I think he shows the desire needed to hang with most SG's. His athleticism will be much needed tonight on both ends of the floor.

I didn't realize that today at 6pm was the deadline for guaranteeing contracts for players without guarantees (I thought it was Feb. 10).

With this in mind, I can better understand why the Cavs let Thompson go yesterday (regardless of Gibson's injury). They couldn't have held on to him to play tonight unless they were prepared to commit to him for the remaining 2/3 of the season. I follow that.

Interesting, I also thought it was Friday

Mychel Thompson has been signed by the Erie Bayhawks. I'm surprised we didn't sign him to the Canton Charge.

Pretty sure I heard Erie already owned his D-League rights. Canton wasn't allowed to sign him.

You're right. Thompson was with Erie before the Cavs signed him and they still had his rights.
