Any team with LeBron James has a chance, but the Warriors are definitely the scariest team left in the playoffs and would probably be considered the favorites in that series.

For us to win, LBJ would have to be dominant and Kyrie would probably have to play at a similar level to Curry.

I will never cease to be amazed at the amount of people that aren't impressed by Golden State. What is it exactly that they haven't done? They won 67 games, had the second best offense during the year, and the number 1 defense. Those kinds of numbers aren't a fluke over the course of an entire year. They've got a deep bench, size all over on the perimeter, and tons of shooting.
If the Cavs played them, of course I'd say "let's go win this thing!" But I don't see how the Cavs supposedly matchup well with them considering the state of the Cavs right now.

Oh, I'm aware of this thread and I'm waiting until it's reality. I'll break this mutha down, don't you worry. Years of watching Ramon Sessions praying for a ref bailout and Nelly coaching half asleep half drunk will all pay off. I could write a 5,000 word epic on the subject of Steven Jackson vs. Delonte West off their meds in a mid-court brawl if needed.

Now I'm rooting for the Warriors to win the West just so I can read this post.

Yeah the only way the cavs beat da dubs is if they continuously shut down 1 or both da splash Bros because any game where they combine for 50+ is a loss on our behalf

Personally I just hope they won't reach the finals.

Out of the remaining 3 teams out-west i'd prefer to meet Houston, they have just one guard that can actually score so we can get away easy with playing Kyrie, they have some holes in their roster and I think that Blatt clearly wins the coach match-up with McHale, overall I just think we can beat them.

the 2nd best choice will be Clippers- CP3 is a beast, but he is hurt and you can put Shump on him and hide Kyrie on their bad wing players (Redick is a 3-point threat but I think a hurt Kyrie can contest his shots, Barnes is not that scary on offense). Thompson and Mozgov can defend BG and DJ and their bench makes our bench look ok. I'll take my chances on a Austin Rivers chuck-fest and their team looks increasingly tired.

The GSW is the absolute worst case scenario- they have 2 guards that can kill you on any given night, which means playing a not-100% Kyrie will be suicide. they have the best defensive anchor in the league in Bogut, an elite defender in Draymond- that with Love out will surely take on LeBron, a lot of spacing, killer depth and one of the best coaching staff's in the league between Kerr and Gentry. that not to say we have 0 percent of winning a series against them- but I think it will be very hard for us.

Well we beat the shit it out of them when we had love and a game plan. They are whiners and physical play gets them out of their game. The east is more physical and we came very close to beating them on their home floor without Lebron.

I actually think the Cavs are the tougher team. They may be lacking due to losing Love, and Kyrie may be a shell for that series I don't know. Full strength though, I think we would easily beat them. Their inexperience is showing.

You guys are getting ahead of yourselves

pelicans were complete trash, memphis is a weak offensive team and overrated overall and tony allen was injured at the worst time he was the best perimeter defender they had.

you guys are sleeping on Hou or Lac those teams will present match up nightmares for the warriors esp with their big's and 3pt shooting combination (Jordan,Blake/Howard) I'm willing to bet my money that who ever comes out from that series will beat the GSW.

Cavs out here beating up on the Bostons of the world, who have zero all-star talent, while the Warriors beat New Orleans with Anthony Davis and you're trying to convince me the Warriors path has been super easy.

Ok.

When they roll through the WCF, I'm sure it'll just be another laundry list of rationalizations as to why they really aren't all that good, despite every piece of evidence pointing to the contrary.

I'm fine if people think the Cavs can win the series, but I don't understand the need to try and imagine away how good the Warriors are. They were the best team in the league all season, but a wide, wide margin. So far they've been the best team in the playoffs. They're healthy. They have about two million wing defenders to run at LeBron and an unstoppable force when he gets hot.

Physical play gets them out of their game? They just beat Memphis 3 games in a row.....
Tony Allen brings the bulk of the physicality and he was absent or didn't just have it in him to play. Memphis was just flat out exploited anyways. I'd say the Cavs physicality bothers them a lot more.

I've dreamed of the Cavs winning a championship since I was a kid. But I'll be honest. In my wildest dreams, I can't even imagine a scenario where the Cavs win a championship on LeBron's first year back and being as banged up as they are with Love and Andy out and Kyrie's injuries. LeBron might as well be considered the greatest of all time if he took this team to a championship.

And it honestly feels kind of sad to think about winning a ring without Love and Andy. That would be kind of weird for them. It would be really amazing to pull that off. What sucks is that I think we would be the heavy favorite healthy. Even then, it could be GSW so that gives you how hard of a task it would be to beat them.

Memphis' problem was that their lack of good perimeter play meant that the splash brothers weren't required to expend as much energy on the defensive end. That made their offense even more dangerous.

Hopefully, our outside shooting and better perimeter play will slow them down a bit on the other end.

As for physicality, Memphis' big men are physical. But apart from Allen, the rest of them aren't.

Not saying they're not great, but a flawed Memphis team that matched up badly took them to 6 games. We'd have an decent shot.

They are a great team and won a lot of games, but we match up well with them. Lebron destroys them every time he faces them because they have no one to stop him. They don't have a wing defender that bothers Lebron nor do they have a big man that does either. On paper their defense maybe a great defense and better than Chicago's defense, but in reality Lebron will do very well against their defense...much much better than he did against Chicago. The key to beating a Lebron James team is to slow him down, but GS cannot do that. The list of teams that have beat a Lebron James team while Lebron James has played at a great level is very small (2014 Spurs, 2009 Magic).

Also their offense is inherently streaky. They don't have a post up threat or a good slasher. They mainly shoot threes and no matter how good you are at it they won't always go in. While they could have a hot series against us they could also have a cold series as well.

Lebron will be very motivated against them and Stephen "MVP" "I am a better offensive player than Lebron" Curry. He didn't forget that comment.

I agree that the Cavs are a tougher team, but I think the talent disparity is too great with the Cavs injured. At full strength it would be a competitive series.

But there is just, like, a weird distrust of the Warriors' results that I can't quite put my finger on. Perfect example:
Beat the shit out of them: 110-99
Almost beat them on their home floor without LeBron: 112-94

I just don't see us competing with the Warriors without bein fully healthy. At our best right now, I think we could take them to 6 games but the Warriors would still win. The only sliver of chance in beating them is if they find the spotlight of the Finals too big and have the rookie "just happy to be here" mentality, but I don't see it. Not to mention we'd have to win in the Oracle which is a seriously rocking crowd and be perfect at home.

I'd love to pick the Cavs, but I really can't given our current situation. If the Rockets somehow prevail to the Finals, then I like our chances.

It feels like I'm suddenly Mr. Golden State, but the Cavs are more reliant on the three than Golden State. The Cavs took 36 more threes than the Warriors this year, and the Warriors put up about 400 more overall field goal attempts.
