Warriors wont beat us. Curry will crumble with no experience in the Finals and he will be cold shooting. Lebron will excel and JR is gonna have another big series because hes that cold blooded. I think Klay thompson has a solid series but it wont be enough to carry Currys bad series he will have.

Huh?

Who does Houston have to guard LeBron?

Golden State has Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala, and Harrison Barnes; all plus defenders with Green, Thompson, and AI2 being top-tier to elite perimeter defenders. Thompson and Green are both DPOY-level players.

I think a lot of folks here just aren't hip to the Golden State Warriors. These guys are stacked on both sides of the floor. They are the team to beat; period.

If we are going to beat them, it will be because we've defended the 3-pt line. I am very encouraged by Blatt's use of Shump consistently on Korver. This makes me understand that Blatt is watching these playoffs and literally assimilating other coach's strategies on-the-fly.

Blatt has to outcoach Steve Kerr, James has to be at his best, and one of JR Smith or Iman Shumpert needs to be an All-Star for 4 games.

You clearly haven't looked up the numbers LeBron puts up against Barnes, Igoudala, Green, and Thompson. Look them up before you talk out your ass.

Klay Thompson?

Andre Igoudala?

Draymond Green?

Harrison Barnes?

Golden State has great perimeter defenders...not too sure how you come to the conclusion that they have no one to guard LeBron.

Look at the numbers. He destroys all of them. Jimmy Butler was the last LeBron defender in the playoff we had to worry about. Hell, did you guys not watch the CLE/GS game when LeBron was back? He took turns shitting on all their wing players. I mean Barnes couldnt guard him at all.

The fuck are you talking about?

LeBron played Golden State only once this season... If you're going on opp stats from a single game, a game where James scored 42 points, in order to try and predict the outcome of a seven game Finals series; then frankly, you're out of your fucking mind.

I don't have time to give math lessons, let alone lessons in common sense.

Get fucking real.

One game sample size...lol you're a funny guy.

Harrison, Iggy, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson is about as good as a collection of wing defenders you'll find in this league. It's ridiculous to say that "Golden State has no perimeter defenders to defend LeBron." Will they completely neutralize LeBron? Probably not. But GS has enough plus defenders to make life difficult for LeBron.

They need Draymond near the rim to combat the Cavs rebounding.. If he's guarding LeBron beyond the post that will be very interesting and a lot of pressure on Bogut to rebound.

You'll see a lot more Lee in my opinion because of the rebounding aspect coupled with the fact the Cavs front court can allow a poor defender like Lee to rebound and finish without being punished on the other end-- unlike Memphis who had excellent post players.

It will be interesting to see how they play Barnes and use their rotation ?

Except it doesn't matter if they are a "good collection of wing defenders"...LeBron plays more in the post than he does on the wing when Kyrie is healthy and is handling the ball, and I fully expect Kyrie to be as healthy as we have seen for sometime when June 4th rolls around...those guys have no chance in hell to "make life difficult" on the block vs LeBron, which is why people are referencing the game vs Golden State where LeBron absolutely owned them on the block. And if they counter him on the block by putting Draymond on him, we just won the series because now we beat them up on the glass.

You really think it's going to be that easy?...

And you think Iggy & Draymond Green have "no chance in hell" of making life difficult on the block for LeBron? What the fuck....

Idk, call me crazy but I don't see LeBron abusing Golden State's wing defenders in Green, Iggy, Thompson, and Barnes. I expect him to have a pretty good series but I don't see him manhandling that group.

Listen, I understand we're all partial to the Cavs here but come on now...for anyone to agree with the statement "Golden State has absolutely no one to guard LeBron" is ridiculous. Barnes (physically) matches up pretty well to LeBron. Thompson has developed into an elite perimeter defender this year, Green was runner up in DPOY voting this year and Iggy has made a career out of being an elite defender. GS has multiple guys they can throw @ LeBron.

I think their half court defense is over rated. Great transition defenders. Im more curious what cavs defense can do tho. Thats most important

GS's defense is based on their players being great individual defenders who work well independently from each other. when the momentum is on their side and the good times are rolling, they are incredibly hard to score against because they all dig in their heels and psych each other up. From what I've seen of them this year, however, they do seem to be susceptible to get frustrated if things aren't going their way and at that point their defense can start coming apart at the seams. They aren't as disciplined as us on that end, maybe because they don't have the same veteran presence on the team as we do, maybe because of Kerr, maybe something else. regardless, I definitely think playing them physically on both ends is going to be the way we beat them, if we do beat them. play big, play hard, make them hurt and frustrated and question themselves.

Yeah, I do. Why?

1. Iggy isn't the Iggy of old here, you're acting like we are about to go up against Philadelphia AI in his prime. He hasn't been the same on defense for quite a while (still good, but not enough to really bother LBJ). And he has never been a banger in the post on defense and is outweighed by quite a bit by LeBron. I watched him get over powered possession after possession by LeBron in their lone matchup this year, so why should I believe it would be any different in the playoffs?

2. The way Golden State plays, they won't put Green on LeBron. Unless they decide to all of a sudden play big, which again would be a huge strategic win for the Cavs, Green will be on Tristan at all times. If they decide to play big, that means another hole on defense in David Lee or Speights will be on the floor, and I feel very confident in Timo or Tristan to exploit either of those guys if they have to play heavy minutes.

There are 3 defenders who can "make life difficult" for LeBron, and they are all out of the playoffs. Everyone else just has to hope the guys behind them communicate and rotate properly if they want to stop him, and that usually leads to him finding guys for open 3s.

Sure, there is a bit of a Cavs bias here on my part, but I have only ever seen Kawhi, Tony Allen, and Butler "make life difficult" for LeBron.

Gotta say I'm really excited for this series. Hope you guys can take of business tonight to get 8 days of rest so Irving and James are close to 100% for the Finals.

I was there in person in February and watched Lebron abuse and destroy all of them in the post. As I recall they took Barnes off of him after a few minutes, and none of the other guys had any success on him either.
