New Lebron Commercial

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This commercial is officially overrated. Its ok, but not genius. The accolades getting thrown around are pretty absurd. Nike is doing a good job of now attempting people to feel bad and forgive James, something Americans are usually eager to do. But it doesn't escape the fact he quit and rubbed it in on national tv. Nor does it do much to dispell any notion that James is absurdly egotistical.

Perfect commercial for him. He still dealt our fanbase to go play 2nd fiddle to D.Wade so he can fuckoff.

All this commercial did was reinforce to me that he's still an egotistical jackass, just like he's always been. Awww, poor LeBron, did we hurt your feelings? He's trying to play the victim in the eyes of others, and it might work for some, but it won't to us Cavs fans. We know who this guy is, and he most certainly is not a role model.

What should he do? Apologize. Be honest with us as to what really happened at the end of last year, and why he left us high and dry. THAT'S what I want to know, LeBron.

"Should I tell you how much fun we had?" with the poster falling hurt. Churned up images of all the great memories. I'll never understand what happened on July 8th, 2010.

Lately he's offerred in-direct apologies. These half apologies still show that he doesn't care. It's all an image repair fest and will be this whole season. Of course Nike is going to do everything they can because he was one of the most popular players in the NBA and Nike has taken hit from Tiger they don't want to lose out on more money with Lebron.

No apology could make up for his trangressions. He legitmately lied to a fan base...for a good amount of time. Took all these teams on rollercoaster ride knowing fully he had no intention of ever joining any of their teams. Worst than lying, he quit in the middle of the playoffs. As a person who takes sports in general too serious :chuckles:, I do it because I love the game/sport. Watching a guy with as much talent, who was beloved as he was in a city where he could do no wrong mislead and handle the himself as he did is outrageous. However, the only thing worse is quitting. No info was ever released about the injury and by what he said and what the team said, it was something he could deal with. It was a scapegoat for him not wanting to work hard for the championship. Which was verified when he decided to take his talents to South Beach. As someone who loves sports and values them as a sanctuary and learning ground for good in society, it will take more than words for me to ever think he's made a sincere apology. He'll have to back up with his actions.

I still hate LeBron's guts, but this is such a great commercial that many people probably will start thinking otherwise of him. If I remember correctly, Nike didn't like The Decision at all, and I think it was Windhorst who wrote that there wasn't a single Nike poster to be seen anywhere in the premises. The Decision was all on LeBron, his "PR team" and ESPN. I imagine that Nike was pretty frustrated after that show, because they knew that it had the possibility to completely ruin the LeBron brand they had used years to build up. This is truly the perfect way for Nike to start rebuilding his brand.

But anyway: Fuck LeBron, I will not forgive him before he admits his wrongdoings and sincerely begs Cleveland for forgiveness. Which probably will never happen.

This commercial is begging for a voiceover spoof.

This dude is so good at getting you to believe what he says. He's good at getting you to believe he never did anything wrong. He's good at making you feel sorry for him but the realcavsfans will never forget.

I disagree completely. Nothing about the guy seems genuine. Maybe an outsider might think so, but I've always felt over the last seven years that he was far from a genuine person.

Anyways, he just doesn't get it, and Nike is trying to convince LeBron of what he doesn't get. LeBron thinks people hate him because he's good. This Nike commercial tries to perpetrate that. But people don't hate him cause he's good, they hate him cause he's a douche.

But people don't hate him cause he's good, they hate him cause he's a douche.

Actually it's the combination of the 2 that I know is going to make me hate him even more as time passes. He's way beyond good, talent wise I still hate knowing he could very well end up the "GOAT". But the fact that he is just as much a "douche" makes it over the top...

I really don't get the people who are saying the commercial is brilliant...what is so great about it? It just comes across as more of the same - LeBron trying to play victim. He wanted all of this extra attention - the interviews, the free agent tour, "The Decision" - and now that he's finally received it, he's acting like the media and fans are all over him and that he doesn't know why, and that he's just wanting to be himself and play basketball...can't have it both ways LeBron.

You made your bed, now you can sleep in it.
