New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I guess I used to watch Burn notice but the schedule was just so odd and I never watch anything else on that network. Like USA specifically has all the shows that have 4-5 seasons now and I have no idea what the shows are about and who is on them. Like TNT stuff I just assume is going to be low to middling of quality.

For the most part I think that you can trust FX or HBO at this point and that's about it. AMC used to be this way but their last 4-5 original shows have sucked.

Showtime is also to the point where you know the shows will all get like 5-6 seasons and be relatively safe and middling but far from a must watch.

I kind of enjoyed Psych for a minute but it's just like Castle or the Mentalist or some other mainstream fare that is good enough but not must see programming.

I mean, we can provably agree that most shows in general have about 4 seasons worth of good material without starting to get redundant or the "everything has changed™" type storyline.

Mainly I just watch stuff that's either really good or truly awful(like Criminal Minds)

I like Falling Skies (TNT show) although it seems to have a lot more valley's than peaks...

I tried watching Weeds last night because I was bored. Wow is that show bad. Shows with their corny acting.

Anybody watch damages? I watched they first couple episodes on Netflix seemed like a decent show.

usa has had some great shows but they often run for way too long and really deteriorate.

suits was good for like 2 seasons and is totally skippable now
burn notice was excellent for like ~4 seasons then got awful. same with psych.
monk was pretty good throughout
white collar was good up until the most recent season
the shorter stuff - nec. roughness, the one with the super hot sarah shahi, graceland, etc is totally skippable

i do have to give them credit for going against the grain and airing more quirky type shows, but as usual with tv shows (and movies, really) the good ones tend to get dragged on for way too long and really lose their luster

I feel like this will be more fast paced than the Walking Dead and maybe even better ?

FX overall has been pretty good with original programming the last few years. I think it would work better as a mini-series but those seem to be out of fashion. Maybe if they keep it to 1 season per book it could work.

The Walking Dead is a show about people while The strain is very much about vampires. It should seem fairly unique like Jack said unless like me you are a horror junky and read an oldish book series called the Necroscope. The only really complaint I have (and I am not sure how it will be in the adaption) is it starts off as science fiction/horror and stays that way for awhile before it decides to do a poorly executed genre change.

I also find it interesting that FX is finally throwing their hat into the Sunday night cable drama ring.

They showed a sex scene on Weeds that is more graphic than porn I've seen. Really wasn't expecting that. Thought it was a relatively clean show.

I just started Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Off to a good start.

Weeds was only good the first 2 seasons. It ended horribly. I feel that Orange is the new Black may have the same fate.

So the next 6 seasons suck and aren't even worth watching?
