New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Just had my ankle operated on and I'm gonna be pretty much bed-ridden for a couple of weeks. Perfect opportunity to get stuck into a new series. What do you guys suggest? Not including Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead or Boardwalk Empire because well, if you aren't up to date with them then you haven't lived.

'True Detective' is my hands-down recommendation if you haven't seen it yet. I just watched the first two episodes of 'Halt and Catch Fire' which seem promising.

Also wanted to share my source for TV. Hands down the best place to download episodes, especially for internationals like us who don't get all television programs fast-tracked from the US: http://eztv.it/

Married has been okay thus far -- nothing special. I've been meaning to check out the strain as well.

Started watching Grimm on Amazon Prime. It's a pretty cool concept with the fiarytale/crime genre. Nothing special but decent to have on in the background while I'm browsing RCF

Watched from the start. I would agree. Plots can be a bit of a stretch here or there, but fun if willing to ignore some things to make the story work. I like the storyline that is threaded throughout the entire series. It is mindless entertainment.

A lot of the stuff hits home with me. I really like the actors but I could see the show being an acquired taste.

The Strain Episode 4 - The acting sucks! Come on please - It feels forced ! I feel like a good story line is being ruined by bad acting.

The Wire, The Newsroom, or Dexter?

I'm not a fan of the Newsroom at all, and Dexter is like a flaming train wreck after Season 4 with the worst ending of all time, so...

The Wire, The Newsroom, or Dexter?

The wire and it isn't even close.

I find it hilarious Dexter made it to "premium television." That show is something I would envision being on USA Network. Just another corny ass crime drama that died a slow, painful death.

the first season or two of Dexter were awesome. It went the way of Prison Break, freaking amazing start and then it just wouldnt die.

update on Fairy Tail, after watching season 1 (48 episodes lol) and the first 10 of season 2, it is definitely worth a watch. Season 1 could have been 2 or 3 action packed seasons on its own and with minimal filler, a rarity in anime

Speaking of The Wire, Marlo Stanfield just showed up on last night's episode of The Strain. Let's hope there's no abandoned housing projects in the area.

I thought the latest episode of the leftovers was the weakest. It just wasn't very interesting.
