New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'd recommend the man in the high castle if you have Amazon Prime. It's just the pilot right now, if enough watch it they'll pick it up.

Based on the book by Phillip K. Dick and produced by Ridley Scott. It's an alternate history where we lost WW2. Stars Rufus Sewell.

Wow, it was real good. I don't know how this show won't go on especially with that ending. Acting was good. Only actor I thought was a little low was the head Japanese guy, but I feel he is supposed to be that stern and "stand off-ish"

Good watch.

Same here. I read the book a while back and the show is wildly different so far. Still thought it was excellent.

At first glance, it seems like they're going to punch up the action a little bit in comparison to the book.

Coincidentally, the Japanese guy/I Ching devotee is actually a major player in the book and it might be worth a quick read if you liked the show.

Anyone else see anything of "Z Nation"? It's a pretty bad zombie apocalypse series on SyFy, more deliberately humorous than the Walking Dead, and with characters dying off in order of how well they can act. By the last episode, the only actors left were horrible.

Anyway, I watched it with my son just because it was so awe-inspiringly campy/crappy. They ended the season with nuclear warheads being launched at the surviving characters, who basically are all saying "we're totally fucked" as they see the missiles coming down. And I thought "you know, if they kill off this horrible series by nuking all the characters, it would have to go down as one of my favorite series finales of all time." Like they were so embarrassed by the show that they wanted to destroy utterly any remnant of it.

Unfortunately, it got renewed. What wasted potential....

Supposedly the 12 Monkeys show on SyFy is really good. I haven't seen it yet but intend to it some point.

SyFy is also making a show based off of The Expanse, a sci-fi series by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck (using the James S.A. Corey pen name). I read the first book and it was pretty good. I was already a fan of Abraham's fantasy works The Long Price Quartet and The Dagger & the Coin, both of which are pretty solid. I plan to eventually continue reading the other books in the Expanse series, but always seem to have a dozen books on my plate that I want to read.

Did anyone watch Parks & Rec last night? Some fine acting by Nick Offerman.

Dude !!!!!

I share some of your sentiments - The cheesy, campy, bad acting parts but man was this entertaining as heck !!!!! Baby zombie, Zombie-Nado, Zunami, radioactive zombie, zombie bears - It was such a fun ride. This is basically Walking Dead on Speed !!!! The plot is fast moving and entertaining. I would totally watch season 2 just to see if they can keep up the pace.

Maybe so, but ending it with everyone getting nuked would be an all-time great "drops mike, walks off stage" moment. I think they did that deliberately in the event they weren't picked up for a second season - go out with style!

But zombie baby? How incompetent must Delta Force be to have one of its captains survive two year of the zombie apocalypse only to be killed by a zombie baby that could barely walk, and only came up to his knee??

I know right? And it did get shittier but it never failed to amuse me. I was also impressed to learn that the makers of Z Nation Asylum are the same people who make the rip off movies like Transformers - Transmorphers, Abe Lincoln Vs Zombies - Abe Lincoln Vs Vampires, Pacific Rim - Atlantic Rim ... and Sharknado ...lol

Asylum films are great but were the bane of my existence for a couple years working at Hollywood Video. EVERY time a new one would come out, I'd have at least a dozen morons rent it then come back bitching that it wasn't the movie they thought it was. Got to the point where I would just tell them it wasn't the movie they wanted when they brought it to the counter.

That is their entire business strategy, Sucks for you dude.

eh I didn't care that much. Was just annoying to get bitched at, so I'd usually tell people it wasn't what they thought when they brought it to the counter. Or I'd do a special display for just Asylum movies. Miss that job.

If anyone watches American Horror Story, just watched the finale of Freak Show and geez was it kind of awful. It started out awesome, but it just ended real slow.

Looking forward to see what type of setting Season 5 will have and how all the seasons are connected even more.

Need a new show to watch on either Netflix, HBOGO, or Prime.

Shows I've enjoyed over the years (off the top of my head, sure I'll forget some):

Game of Thrones
House of Cards
True Detective
The Walking Dead
Person of Interest
Justified
Vikings
24
Breaking Bad
The Wire
Californication
Lost
Sons of Anarchy
Sopranos
Prisonbreak

I prefer it had/will have at least 3 seasons.

Any recommendations? Currently on my radar are Newsroom, Dexter, Rome, The Shield, Six Feet Under.
