New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'll try to talk the wife into Rick and Morty. Just finished the Wet Hot American Summer prequel, I suggèst watching the movie first but it was irreverently entertaining. Some people I know watched the show without seeing the movie and seemed utterly confused.
My girlfriend won't watch Rick and Morty with me; i'm flying solo on that adventure.

I watched WHAS for the first time a few days before the series released. Then it took me like 2 days to finish the series, but there was a lot of call backs and jokes tied to the movie so it's important to watch the movie first, not to mention much of the plot is tied to the movie obviously.

It had it's funny moments, like the movie did, but I didn't find it hilarious. I also watched the "making of" movie they have on Netflix as well about the original movie, that was interesting. And not to spoil the series, but I don't think there will be a season 2 the way it ended. I'm sure that was the plan but I didn't know.

And for @The Oi , I memorized it for you, Kristen Wiig makes her cameo on episode 4 around the 20 minute mark. 420, yeah easy to remember, but after that scene she only pops up a couple more times for the rest of the series for like 2 seconds at a time so it's like her only scene.

I think the WHAS prequel has been okay, not that funny. Then again, I never loved the movie like a lot of people, so I'm probably the wrong person to ask.

Christopher Melon is the best part of the series/movie for me. He's worth watching.

I liked Paul Rudd in the original, but I think he kind of sucks in the series personally.

Tried the WHAS series. It's too forced.

The randomness in the movie was completely out of the blue. The brevity of it being a movie made it better. Too much randomness to throw in as a show.

Curb is the only show I can think of that managed to turn pure off the wall randomness into multiple seasons.

I finished WHAS, it got better. I thought the first four episodes were pretty blah.

The Elizabeth Banks plot was horrible. Paul Rudd was almost completely out of character in this.

Barely resembled Andy, and when he did, it just fell really flat compared to the movie.

Did anyone watch "Ballers" this week? One of the main characters played by Denzel Washington's son gets into a fight with Chris "Birdman" Andersen at a club.

They mouth off at each other but the main insult? "Man fuck you, LeBron did the right thing going back to Cleveland!" :chuckle:

Thought the WHAS show was much better than the movie. But I think you need to watch the movie to understand the show better.

For example, the professor stuff pretty much adds nothing to the show unless you've seen the movie.

It wasn't the best show I've ever watched or anything but for what it is, a fun summer comedy, I thought it was good.

Holy shit, that guy is Denzel's son?

But yeah I've been watching. That line was hilarious :chuckle:

Haha, yeah! Now that you know, watch how many times you'll hear Denzel in his voice. On this week's episode if you watch back, on certain words and phrases he spoke with freakish similarity to his old man.

He kind of looks like the love child of Denzel and James Harden as well, to be honest.

Could be the year Amazon becomes a major player.

Hand of God seems pretty intriguing.
Man in the High Castle does too.

Transparent was their critics win and it's coming back.

And they have one called the Trial with Billy Bob Thorton and a Western drama on tap for next year.

The Strain has truly been a strain for my eyes. It is like the players learnt nothing from last season. The plot is decent but the pacing, needless under/over acting, editing and lack of coherence makes the series hard to watch. And if they do decide to show some skin why are they showing a 40 year old guys ass ?

Read up on Westworld after seeing the teaser and I'm very intrigued. Definitely gonna check it out when it airs next year.

HBO is rolling out a bunch of new shows in 2016. B/w this and Westworld, it makes it a bit easier to justify my ridiculous AT&T U-verse bill.

Loved Bobby Cannavale in Boardwalk Empire. He really stole the show the season he was featured. This looks like it has great potential.
