New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I've never been a big Lynch fan, but I did like the first season of Twin Peaks a lot. It went off the fucking rails in season two, though.

Season 2 was not good. They revealed the killer too soon and Lynch was stuck to write something lack luster (season 2). Leland Palmer was gold.

IMO, The Sopranos > The Wire. Season 5 of The Wire was pretty bad. And because of that, it's not in my top 5.

I think calling season five of The Wire bad is a stretch. It's easily the worst season of The Wire, but that's more because the first four seasons are pretty much purely brilliant than because the fifth season is awful. It's a solid season of television, but it looks worse when compared to the incredible previous four.

It's been a while since I've seen Sopranos, but if I recall, I think there were at least two seasons that I would consider worse than season five of The Wire, and the best seasons of the Sopranos are nowhere near seasons two and four of The Wire for me. Honestly, I'm not sure I'd rate a single season of The Sopranos was better than any one of the first four seasons of The Wire.

I'd also take The Shield over Sopranos, for what it's worth. Breaking Bad too.

I'll say there was a series of episodes in the last 2 seasons of The Sopranos that I rather they didn't do. But I still like it as a whole when compared to The Wire.

Breaking Bad tops The Wire. And I cannot comment on The Shield because I've never seen a single episode.

The Sopranos was probably the best show I had seen when I watched through it, but since then I've seen The Wire and Breaking Bad and they've easily eclipsed it.

I'm slowly making my way through X-Files now, but The Shield is next on my list as far as old shows go.

The Shield is definitely worth it. It can feel a bit old-fashioned since it has a lot of "case of the week" episodes, but overall it's just a fantastic show. The fourth and fifth seasons are two of the best seasons of television I've ever seen, and the ending is the best TV ending of all time.

Thing about the case of the week episodes is that a lot of them tie into the plot in some long-reaching way that isnt immediately apparent. So i never really minded them.

The Shield needs to get on Netflix or Amazon Instant soon

Yeah I don't really mind them, but it's definitely noticeable since not a lot of cable shows do that any more.

Is it not on Amazon Instant any more? It used to be, didn't it?
