New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I know I'm just being a contrarian, but I'm getting sick of people defending Avery tooth and nail.

The reddit subreddit is making me sick.

This is a avalanche level biased doc that took ten years to make and edit, that literally showed not only only (..yes, correct English) one side of the best attorneys in the state, on a TEAM, but a bunch of shit that isn't admissible to court..

Ken Katz is probably a fucking ass, but.. lol what are the chances Avery isn't? Burned cats alive, drove women off the road and held them at gunpoint, molested several family members, drew pictures in his cell in his first stint of tying a woman up, raping and killing and burning her, instructions detailing how to do so..

I hope everyone who thought the oj verdict was horseshit Bc "we all know he's guilty" but cochrane used a planted evidence defense feels like a seething hypocrite if they fail to even for a moment consider that maybe they got the right guy on this one, regardless of the defense.

Maybe they did plant the evidence. Maybe it was obvious as an asshole the guy did it, and they knew they couldn't get a conviction. Are we arguing that he should be free because evidence was possibly tampered with and that him being guilty or innocent isn't really what matters?

How can you call kratz character into question and all but ignore Avery's? Kratz may look like a conniving dick, but Steve sure looks like a fucked up dude. Maybe neither are accurate? Maybe they both are? Maybe it's possible that we separate kratz personal life from his career and he could possibly have been wanting to put away the obvious murderer and new he had to do what he had to do to get him there? Bill Clinton leveraged the shit out of his power to Fuck a bunch of girls that weren't his wife buy he was a good president.

It sits so poorly with me that very very few people are willing to question this series that had a clear objective and think for themselves rather than being spoon fed a lopsided 10 hour mindfuck.

I could go on and probably will.

Actually, mods, can you make this a new thread?

I know that Avery isn't the brightest bulb, but who would do such a horseshit job of hiding a car with a few apparently leafless branches leaned up against it along with a few sheets of corrugated metal that didn't conceal the entire vehicle? Also, with the maze of stacked cars on that property, a murderer would hide the victim's car on the outskirts of of the lot where it would probably be one of the easiest places to see?

I'm about halfway through...just finished the episode where Colburn knew the make and model of the car without asking the dispatcher.

it seems to me like the family feels pretty safe on their home turf. like the ghouls in House of 1000 corpses.

the reading of brendans confession is a lot.. different than the edited version you see in the doc, so before anyone jumps on the 'it was all 100% fed to him' board, he told the guys that he tried to hide the car (where it was found) with exactly what was on it.

regardless, the whole thing could be wrong. it very well could be planted there by police (im assuming it was. that cop is calling in plates days before it was found).

but that doesnt mean avery didnt kill this woman. no, its not the defenses job to prove he didnt do it. but lets say fuck the legal system for a second because its not always right.. you can have a clear cut killer based on stupifying character information and admissions of guilt (i.e. avery's recorded phone conversations which the defense managed to get thrown out and Butie and Strang's direct statement explaining Avery lacks the self control to keep himself from incriminating .. himself on a known recorded line. (..lets go back to the hiding of the car? lol). yes, its fucked up that the cops planted evidence. but oj killed nicole.

The real question is why he wouldn't use the fucking car crusher that he had access to and knew how to use.

you have to remove the engine, and some other laboriously difficult part first

Just finished the series. I don't know how I feel about the potential guilt or innocence of the the two convicts.

My real takeaway is to not be first: poor, then second: uneducated. The Avery family was pushed around and was clueless on so many things.

Whatever happened to Brendan's first lawyer? Disbarred, I hope. Everything with this kid was just so wrong. Kid was dumb as a box of rocks and could barely think for himself. He was more worried about missing Wrestlemania than being put in jail.

I don't know...I don't feel like typing a ton right now, but it's scary what can be done to you if the authorities wanted to.

Brendan must be going insane sitting in jail pondering the tough questions like, "I wonder who ended up winning that cage match during WrestleMania?"

I'm never going to make jokes about a vulnerable kid that got screwed over so bad hell be behind bars for all of his meaningful years of his life

Just finished Making a Murderer...man that was just fucked up. And now I'm depressed.

I know you just invested a lot of time and energy into it, but consider that you just watched a video made and edited over ten years to incite rage and that they may have presented things in a particular way to elicit that response

I've done some research and read the comments in here...I seem to be at the same understanding as most.

That being, the cops were fucking scumbags and definitely cheated both trials. Immediately upon finishing the doc I was convinced both were innocent...after researching and reading, I'm not quite as sure, particularly about Avery. The numerous phone calls he made to Trader/Halbach, including the day of her disappearance, are certainly disturbing and honestly pisses me off that it wasn't part of the doc. Additionally, Avery is undoubtedly a piece of shit so I really don't feel too bad for him anymore.

But the kid...man. I still feel like he really got fucked over. But I am curious about his part of his coerced statement (omitted from the doc, ugh) about hiding the car and Steven's non-blood DNA being on the hood for removing the battery. Dassey very well may have been involved to some degree but I do not believe justice was served whatsoever in his case.

Hundred percent agree.

It's kinda telling that even after this doc you can't really say "Steve would never do that!" His character is just.. Eh.

Goddamn about Brendan though. Like as infuriating as it is that he's vulnerable, he's equally as good a person.

Just started watching The Strain. Looked back and didn't see anyone talking about it. Heard some pretty good things, but doesn't feel like it is as highly talked about as other shows. Pretty interesting so far. Anyone a fan of it?
