New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Anyone on here like workaholics? It's a stupid show but I love it. The first episode of season 4 was pretty hilarious. Season 3 was awful so it's good to see them bounce back.

I know it's a gameshow, but seriously, if you have not watched The Chase on GSN, you are missing out on the best 2 minutes in TV. Ratings have been climbing. 721,000 people watched this past week. Every Tuesday at 8PM.

I am in love with The Wire. I'm close to finishing season 3. My stand out scene of this season is Stringer Bell's "40 degree day" speech.

Stringer is one of my favorite characters of all time.

Broad City was actually pretty funny. I'll keep going on that one. Fred Armisen's baby pervert character was perfectly creepy.

Also speaking of game shows, @Midnight has actually been really fun most nights.

i've been catching up on new girl s2 the past week or so. i watched the first season as it aired but didn't pick it back up when s2 started for some reason. show started hitting its stride late s1 and has built upon that to become consistently great. max greenfield should've at least won the comedy emmy, if not the golden globe too. totally deserving of the noms.

also watched a handful of brooklyn nine-nine since its golden globe wins. definitely doesn't disappoint.

New Girl was great in season 2 and season 3 has been solid but not as good. Damon Wayans Jr coming back is good.

I hear a lot about The Wire on here. Can someone give me an idea of what it's about without spoilers? Is it a continuous plot or one of those shows like NCIS that you can basically tune in at any episode and not be confused? I hate shows like that. I can't get into a show without a continuous plot that'll keep me watching episode after episode.

Baltimore drug dealers and cops. Each season focuses on a different thing like the kids or the ports or the newspapers(weak sauce season).

Yeah I mean it's not a bad show I guess. I just can't get into shows like that, ones with a new story every episode.

The correct term for that type of show is a procedural. And The Wire is about as far from a procedural as you can possibly get. You can think of each season as a novel with a beginning, middle, climax, and ending. Episodes do not and are not designed to stand on their own. If you went in and just watched episode five without watching the previous four, you'd probably have no idea who anyone was or what was going on. There are a ton of characters and there is a lot going on.

I also do not care for shows like that, although there are some solid shows that use a modified format where many of the episodes are stand-alone, but there is also an underlying plot or plots that ties the season together. Justified is a good example of a show that does that very well.

Awesome, sounds like a show I could really get into. What sites do you guys use to stream TV shows. I've always used CokeandPopcorn and it works fairly well. Is there anything better that I don't know about?

I use HBOGO - I'm not sure about the other routes in viewing this.
