I feel bad saying it, but I think I'd be intrigued by a serious shake-up... I'm kind of in the position where I'm hoping someone gets off their hands.. Ashamed, about it a little bit, actually.

I'm with you....Our military could accomplish it with coordinated airstrikes to take out most of their key infrastructure and nuclear reactors within a week.

I think their regime could be broken pretty quickly...if S. Korea is willing to do the ground work...and keep our boots off the ground...I'm all for it.

These are the exact situations drones were intended for. At some point posturing and chest thumping becomes more than just baseless drivel intended to swell the pride of an uninformed, brainwashed nation. That point is drawing dangerously close. You don't make threats, put said threats into a place of action, and not begin to put yourself in a precarious situation where a far superior military entity begins to call your bluff. This asshole is digging his own country's grave, and is currently at about 5 feet with his shovel still actively pitching dirt over his shoulder.

Do we really let this continue on as is? Do we chance the incapability of these missiles to reach our shores, or any of our allies? Or do we proactively stick our middle finger up at this douchebag and check him?

I'm interested in the psychology of the whole situation here. I see two possible scenarios and I honestly have no idea which is the reality. Is it:

(A) That Un and Il before him are so ego-driven and isolated that they don't REALIZE that the US would devastate them

or

(B) That they either don't believe we would or don't care if we did

The question is, do these guys understand what we're capable of and are they living in reality? Or do they somehow "believe" the propaganda they've preached to their subjects about themselves and their enemies? I know Il was insane and Un is equally so AND comes with a need to prove himself, but their actions are too insane for me to grasp.

I mean, at this point, what makes you think that there would be a group of "realists" who can put their position in perspective correctly? How far up does the brainwash go? Does this kid even realize what position he's in? Even if someone has a moral compass, would they even bother trying to speak up? They would probably be like BigMar talking about LIBOR in here, except on a very large scale with implications that can put you in prison or a coffin...

Would be shocked if the U.S. made the first move here with South Korea. They will wait for North Korea to do something, lives will be lost on our side, then we will finally take him seriously and destroy him.

Everything I read about Un before Il died was that he is just bat shit insane. I honestly think that's the answer here. He's just off his rocker.

Today should be interesting....

No it won't.

There's a country aiming nukes at us and 1/2 of the us could give a shit. That's how badass our country is. The thought of someone even bombing us is silly.

Even if they do try to nuke us, I'm not convinced their missile would make it out of Korean airspace.

Call me when some innocent people die. This Korean guy is all bark no bite
