He wanted to come here, so not against his will, but its got to be tough to be in his situation.

I don't think OBJ is a head case or a bad teammate, but I do feel he is extremely emotional in a very Millennial way that is new to sports. That being said, I don't think this is a bad thing at all, but it makes sense from what I see on the sidelines, with the press, etc. Lebron who is a media master is starting to show huge signs of cracking.

My point between media and social media its almost impossible for these guys to ever get away and be normal citizens even just for a couple of days. I honestly feel bad for Odell. I hope things settle down for him and he enjoys the Cleveland market. Unfortunately because of huge strides we have made as a team, Odell and the rest of the team will be on a much more national stage which comes with allot of the assholes in the press which they try to avoid when they can.

Good luck Odell, and hide till the next pre season camp if you must. None of us need to hear from you, us fans are good, and most of us agree, fuck the press.
Millennials don't feel any different emotions than any other generation. They just have more platforms to express it and let it out.

Guarantee you previous generations were filled with emotional folks. You just only had so much newspaper space to make it known to the public.

Not any different but I feel the amount has changed and I feel like it’s based on conditioning. My generation was taught you don’t express that stuff as a man. You are supposed to be a certain way and if you express it it makes you weak.

The mantra of today is acceptance of everything so people have begun flying off the handle about anything and everything.

Not saying it’s right or wrong, just that there is a difference.

Nobody needs to be recklessly flying off the handle.

But suppressing emotions and feelings because "you're a man" is the silliest and possibly one of the most damaging things society ever manufactured.

100% dumb and I agree. However it was the way I feel like my generation was raised. So that stigma suppressed it not necessarily the lack of platform.

They are much better at expressing it. Years ago "real men" were stoic, cold and didn't show emotion. I am actually complimenting a generation below me that has finally made it non taboo to actually show emotion.

Now Odell is extremely emotional, but it comes off to me as passionate and sincere which is fine by me. Guy just wants to win and make plays, for sure millennials are more emotional and its not just social media. We are finally allowed to admit depression is a real thing for the first time thanks to very brave players like Kevin Love.

I really think this is one of the biggest advancements of the younger generation, we make fun of their work ethic all the time as an older society, but we never give them credit for the things the do well like acceptance of people, show true emotions, higher ethics in business, just pointing it out.

(PS, the social media thing is probably my least favorite thing and entitlement issues, but that is my generations fault for giving them a fucking trophy for everything)

I agree except flying off the handle. I am not an emotional person, but its not because I am suppressing it. I love that some athletes today are brave enough to wear their heart on their sleeves. But for sure we were taught to never show emotions as a man. Don't cry, real men don't cry, etc...

Ok that’s my fault I should have been more specific. I completely agree that being we are advancing with regard to emotion and that is great. As a vet being able to see my brothers get help for things we’ve been through and seen brings me a great deal of happiness because I’ve seen what happens when they don’t get it and I think that is furthered by athletes and others coming out and talking about it.

In that same breath by flying off the handle I meant it now seems everything is an emotional event for someone. Sticking with the military reference I’ve seen kids fail out of basic training and claim a 25% disability check for PTSD from being yelled at by Drill Instructors that now left them emotionally scarred

Probably nothing to be concerned about since it's now been deleted but it looks like all the press this move garnered is getting to OBJ a bit.

Sick of this dude and his drama. Get rid of him.

Am I doing it right?

I don't know man, I found it funny. It's so corny it's funny.

Giant fans are saying that he does this at this time every year. It's like a Lebron zero dark thirty tradition. Don't know why he deleted it though.

I think Freddie Kitchens and his steady, mild mannered Southern-drawl demeanor will work well with Beckham's personality.
