Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Kind of mellow for me, but got to admit I like their groove. U2 kind of groove.

Nuisance has been pushing Lana Del Ray on me for months now. I finally gave her a shot (she came up on Pandora, my La Roux station) and she's genuinely good. She has the voice of an ugly old chick but looks like a model from the 50's. Or 60's. Im not good with time periods. Also, I'm only 5 songs in to her discography and have heard the word 'bestest' at least 3 times in two different songs.

Other than that, she stands out.. Writing is obviously unique for this time period.. She uses odd chord progressions. Not on the level of Sia, but similar in tone of voice (but not as much range) and tone of music (poignant, delicate). She sounds like she listens to a lot of Killers and Florence and the Machine, which is unfortunate.

Unfortunately, she's a terrible live performer. She's straight up "studio". Saw her perform on SNL and it was awful, vocally. Maybe with more vocal training, she'll be a better live performer.

I can see that... Her music doesnt seem like it would translate well to a live performance... Reminds me of Amy Winehouse in that sense, except somehow Amy Winehouse was mesmerizing live and you couldnt take your eyes off her. Still sounds good in the car

Watching The Sopranos, and heard this. It was the instrumental part, that got me.

Never heard of this artist, before. I may just look into more of his stuff, as my iTunes is boring me, to no end.

I'm all over the place, with music, as of late.

Still the best live performance, I've ever seen. So much moxie!

Oldie, but a goodie. This has so many elements, to it. It's like 3 songs, masterfully wrapped into one. I wasn't even born yet.

I'm pretty late, on The Strokes.... 16 albums. I need to revamp my iTunes. The storage on my iPhone is majority music.

They've been advertising a 35 year re-release of the album Rumours by Fleetwood Mac, so I thought it's a good opportunity to post this classic:

The Strokes are one of my top 5 favorite bands.. Artic Monkeys first cd was really good but they kinda fell off. Also the worst concert I've ever been to

Saw pinback last night.. THeyre music is just so good. Unique.

The new My Bloody Valentine album is fucking incredible.

My acoustic picks.

Ed Sheeran can do no wrong.

I also saw Robyn, live, 2 years ago. She's a spunky, little pixie.

played at sdsu on campus today at a showcase.. I hate outside acoustics.. Monitors were all too low so I have no idea how I sounded.

Played at Mueller college after that.. Theres this dude Jimmy who hosted open mic's at lestats when/where Jewel and Jason Mraz were discovered.. very big in the scene.. Is going to take over as host for Mueller college.. I played a few times while he hosted at the other place.. Shook his hand before the show, he clearly didnt remember me. Played my set, fucked with the people on stage.. followed me out when I finished to tell me I was particularly good.. solid songwriter and voice.. Not bad I say

How long have you had your guitar, Dave, what kind... etc?
Please get a humidifier for it.

Nils is a fantastic guitarist who's been playing in Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band since 1984. the guy who plays Silvio Dante (Steven Van Zandt) is a part of the band too that's why they used some of Bruce's (and Nils') music and even some of his lyrics in their dialogues ("the highway's jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive")...

anyway if you like Nils' music (his guitar work in particular) check out his "Acoustic Live" album.

My last guitar's neck snapped in half on the way to a show.. I got a replacement, the brand is 100dollarsAtAPawnShop... I think its a yamaha actually. Its better than anything i've played with, but still not great obviously.. I do not take care of it. My strings are all uncut, I never use a tuner and hell no I do not have a humidifier.
