Going through my journal, which is halfway full, and I'm realizing that I must have ADD when it comes to writing. I'd say 90% of what I write is nowhere near completion. I'm not even sure if my approach is right. I just started writing a list of words of how I'm feeling on one side, and then go from there. I don't write for long periods of time.
I'm working on what I've entitled "Mercy". And I'll have a thought about it, and then forget it. As I only keep my journal by my bed. But I think the random words on the side may get me to focus more.
Literally haven't done any singing as I am prone to Bronchical infections(Cigarette smokers do it to me, often). So, I'm literally coughing all day. I've had Mucinex DM and Delsym, both of which have failed, miserably. I know the last straw is to go to the doctor for this magical cough medicine that costs $90. It works wonders, and I'm realizing that I am far too lazy to sit in a waiting room. The only time I can belt something out, is in the shower (I refer to that as my acoustic sessions). Haven't done scales since the beginning of March. I sleep with a cool most humidifier.... Drink hot lemon/honey water, which is disgusting. But I'll eventually take my ass to the doctor and get this magical elixir.
I also made a promise to myself to really step up my guitar play. I think I finally found somewhere to move to, so my stress level is decreasing. I've wanted to punch a whole in my guitar A LOT, but I feel as if I'm in a calm space to not do that.
And lastly: When good lyrics/songs happen to horrible singers -- Why does Rihanna attempt to sing ballads? I love the song "Stay", but literally cannot stand her vocals. She should never try to do "runs"... her vocals are not full enough for ballads. Literally sounds like a cat, screaming. And yes, I paid $1.29 for that song because I want to learn it.
I've revamped my iTunes from 1000 songs to 640, so I can add more songs that interest/inspire me. There is so much music out there, I know I'm missing out on some greatness.
**FOB has a song with Elton John and Patrick's vocals on that song are insane.
***Lead singer from Fun -- I can only take his vocals in small doses.
