Fickell knows he has to win so it's not surprising he wants his best players playing. Posey and Herron. The chances of Fickell being the coach next year are probably about 20% or so. One thing in his favor is that the NCAA has not ruled yet on the punishment for OSU. If OSU gets a one year bowl ban they might be better off giving Fickell yet another year no matter what. Any big time coach would not want to start his first year with a bowl ban and would not come to OSU because of that.

You must have missed my point. If there is a bowl ban for next year, his chances of retaining the job go up. OSU should only hire the next coach who will be the coach way into the future, and not another coach worrying about his job. Who out there other than unproven people would take the job if they have a bowl ban?
