Open Discussion (Cavs + related issues)

Going big against the Warriors sounds great until you see them rip through teams like Memphis, LAC, and Utah.

You have to be able to score too.

Get the Clippers on the phone right now and see what they want for Beverley. The combined attitude + toughness of him and Crowder would make opposing teams tremble.

Seriously, dump Shump and Calderon and see what you can do to acquire this guy...he's the final piece.

Korver + Shump for Bev.

Yeah, getting Beverley here would be amazing. But I think the cost will be too high. Have to hope LAC stinks it up and is out of playoff contention early. Then he might be available at the deadline.

Alternatively could try to target Avery Bradley in Detroit if that team falls apart.

I always find myself agreeing with you.. I mean not always, but most of the time.
I don't know what we can offer for him though. Don't think Shump+our 1st is enough.

We need to pray for more injuries where they are thin. *Evil Laugh*

Love this idea. He would be pricey though, I don't think we have the pieces to make it happen. If Shump had more trade value maybe, our first rounder won't be enough sweetener.

You would also have the problem of having 3 PG's (IT, Rose, Beverly) who will all want rotation minutes, 2 of which are playing for a contract.

Noway they would accept that. The Clippers are kinda rebuilding. They would demand at least a young prospect + vet pg.

They aren’t rebuilding. They just signed Blake and gallo to big deals. They are in win now mode. They aren’t giving up Beverly for pieces and parts.

Our best shot is Avery Bradley. I’m not sure if our own first is enough but maybe that first plus cedi would get it done. But we’d also have to pay him in the offseason.

None of those teams are close to the firepower the Cavs have, even if we ran with a completely defensive center. Hell the Clippers already knew they were going to lose before tipoff against GS and the other two were just not good offensive teams at all. They ripped through our record-breaking offensive squad as well when there's no one to defend the rim or even alter a shot. Scoring is certainly not our problem. Can't wait to see Love at the 5 with IT playing point...

But to improve the defense, you sacrifice the firepower. The Cavs simply don't have the two way horses.

We just sacrifice the firepower for less spacing and worse defense. We do have two way players, N3&D players. Take that for data.

Not sure if serious?

If Clips are 4 games back from the 8 seed in January, sure we could be one of many teams on the phone. But they're playing for this season, not going to unload him just for some middling pick or a dude like Cedi or Ante

Beverley is not on the trading block and I don't see him being moved at all.

The Clips are all in, even if they struggle a little bit, they aren't going to trade away good players for future assets this year. They have a ton of money invested in Blake and Gallo and are about to re-sign DJ. Beverly is actually a perfect PG for that team, and a perfect partner for Teodosic as well.

Beverley also likes playing in LA and the interest is mutual for them to keep him in the off-season.

Time to find a different target.

Cedi OR Zizic + Shump + ??? for Beverly
Would you do that?

Lebron is a Free Agent next season, so there is a possibility he wont be a part of the Cavs. Both Rookies are highly talented. Pretty risky move i would say...
