Well, he started barrelling to the rim against single coverage when we were down 11 with 3 minutes left. Talk about a cherry picked statistic.

Why include the last 9:30? Because it was like he wasn't even out there on either end from like 8:30-3:30 left.

But he almost single handedly brought us back within 3.

Sure, but this is also ignoring the fact that the rest of his teammates gave literally nothing that fourth quarter. If they did, the Cavs win the game even with LeBron conserving his energy for stretches. LeBron shouldn’t have to go balls out on both ends the entire game in order for us to win.

Average role player production wins us that game. They need to do their part. LeBron did his.

Yeah, very disappointing game there. It's not like the Wizards are some defensive genius squad. I still see poor coaching and adjustments out there. Basically, if just letting the players do whatever they feel like isn't working, then we're fucked.

If only we had solid sets/continuities these problems wouldn't happen late in the game. We always shift into iso mode late which is just a disaster if you're not hitting contested jumpers.

Why not run a continuity for 10-15 seconds and get a GREAT look? Hell, our best play of the night was when Nance came from top of the key to screen Korver, slipped, and Nance got a layup. Wizards didn't know when to switch or who to switch on so we score... so naturally, we go away from that type of action late in the 4th.

I think LeBron wasn't trying to take the game over unless absolutely necessary. Can't have new guys relying on him too right off the bat. Didn't work out this time but you just gotta trust the process.

To me it looks like George Hill is thinking a lot out there. He's used to playing in a system and is not a great iso player. I hope he can figure out how to be more aggressive. It would certainly help if Bron would play off the damn ball more often.

On the final play, which obviously wouldn't have won us the game, you could see LeBron looking mad and frustrated that the other guys didn't seem to be running the play right. He was holding the ball and trying to get guys to go where they were supposed to. I guess we can chalk it up to bunch of new guys, trying to figure it out, but there's not much direction here if shots aren't dropping. THAT problem was very reminiscent of the pre-trade Cavs. Get a lead, stop hitting moving the ball as much, stop hitting shots, lose your energy on D, lose the game. No adjustments from the coaches. LeBron's frustrating sometimes, but he can't be the best player on the floor, try to pull your ass out of the fire late in games, AND be the coach. The coaches have to be better.

Or, again, if we had a system.

It’s the new guys’ third game with the Cavs. Relax.

The Cavs were ice cold from the perimeter, while the Wizards couldn’t miss. The new guys kept messing up the pick and roll coverages which won’t happen as the Cavs continue to get experience playing together. And it will take months before the Cavs offense really reaches its potential.

George Hill missed multiple shots at the rim and multiple wide open 3 pointers and we're blaming Lue/the system?

Rodney Hood threw a ball off the backboard when nobody was within 5 feet of him and it's the system's fault?

Guys missed shots. The defense fell off and never recovered. Everyone missed free throws. The Wizards played over their heads. It happens.

The rimmed out 3's were maddening. George Hill had at least 2 if not 3 of those and JR had a couple. Weird game.

Defense fell off after the 1st quarter.

Guys are extra rusty. Will probably take a week to get their shots right.

That's what happens with players that aren't ingrained in defense, when their shots don't fall it's not natural for them to pick up other facets of their game (i.e, rebounding, defense, move the ball to a team mate, etc.) That's when coaching is important, and well....nm...:chuckle:

Hill's defense has been good, but I am slightly worried now. I thought initially he was going to be the last one to get going, but at least his defense would be great.

The biggest gripe in Sac was that he wasn't aggressive enough. We are going to see that too I think. Have to get Clarkson going if that is the case in games. Having Clarkson only play 16 min when we need scoring is nuts

Yeah Clarkson is a ball of energy. Dude needs at LEAST 25 mins a game.
