* Against Akron, the Buckeyes had five turnovers. Against Washington, they had none – and created four of their own.
* The Buckeyes allowed Washington to convert six of ten 3rd down plays in the first half. For the game? 6 for 17.
* OSU has now won 47 straight regular season non-conference games against unranked teams. The string goes back to a 1988 loss at Pittsburgh (42-10).
* Ohio State is 21-1 in their last 22 games; 30-4 in their last 34 – and of those four losses, three were to Top Three teams in the nation (two of whom won national championships).
* Washington was 8-8 in red zone conversions prior to Saturday. Ohio State stopped them 3 times inside the 20, giving up no points.
* Was that last trash drive of the Huskies the first points that the OSU defense has given up in the second half this season?
* OSU “sagged” to just 3rd in the nation in total defense (6th in pass efficiency, 5th in scoring, and 16th in rush defense). But Beanie is now 29th in rushing in the nation and Boeckman is 20th in passing efficiency.
* Next week’s looming victim, Northwestern, is 105th in pass defense and 110th in sacks.
* In a “weak year” for the Big Ten, there are three Big Ten teams in the Top Ten of the coach’s poll. And one of them…is not Michigan!
Ohio State became the first Big Ten team to win in Husky Stadium since Indiana, which took a 20-13 win over UW in 1976. The Huskies had won 11 straight home games over Big Ten competition.
