I was merely mentioning that it might be useful for the front page of the site to not have the majority of topics listed being about stupid shit.

All they'd have to do is make it so that the list only shows recent Cavs related topics...just an idea. As for my other comments about the this thread and other political threads...no need to repeat those.

Now that is a decent idea rather then the rest of the rant. That may be worth starting a thread on "Ask the Staff" and see if it is something others also might agree with. I'm with you on that item, and will mention it to Glen.

It really isn't that important who screwed who or screwed around on their spouse. Usually all that stuff is only meant to distract.

The only thing that bothers me is hypocrisy. If it's not ok for a member from one party than it's not ok for a member of another party.

With Bill Clinton it shouldn't have mattered what went on and had zero effect on anyone in the country other than his family. It was sad that some of the Republicans attacking him had affairs or multiple marriages in their past.

Palin is a clueless joke with a record that has been lied about and distorted and whose choice by McCain is another reason he shouldn't be President.

I mean, I'm really only here for the Cavs forums, but I peak at the off-topic stuff every now and then, and it's safe to say that the one common denominator that unites posters on this board is the Cavs.

All that being said...

It's a sad sad state when topics about a sports team can be deemed worthy and interesting and topics about the next president of the United States fall under the category of "Stupid Shit." You're taking that completely out of context -- reread my posts on the two political threads
(this thread and the "Obama!" thread) and then we'll talk about priorities when it comes to politics.

I don't consider a discussion about a 15 year old affair something that should affect a choice for president -- and I hate the Palin choice for VP -- so I should be the first one in line to bash her personal life. If you think that this thread is anything but "stupid shit" -- then I'm probably wasting my time responding to you in the first place.

Most of what goes on in Off Topic is people that have known each other for a few years ripping on each other and having fun...it's just a message board and not too much gets taken seriously in Off Topic.
I read cavs.com for years. You are insane if you think the standards or intellect over there were higher. Again, if you don't like it then leave. No reason to come in as the new guy slinging insults and try to change what has worked real well for years.

What are you talking about: "scoreboard"? I don't care about Cavs.com -- I've never once visited that board. This is the first Cavs board I've ever belonged to -- and the Cavs discussion is great.

I already agreed to stop sticking my nose into the political threads -- I responded to both Karma and Pip -- and I told them that they were right. But if you want to keep calling me out because of how I rated this thread politically/intellectually, then I will continue to make my point about the fact that this kind of shit is the very problem with the dumbing down of American politics. I'll have this discussion all day long if you want to keep trying to push the point about this thread's validity in terms of my comments. Not really, Obama would scrape out the babies before anyone knew. Obama is lucky his mom didn't mind be punished with a baby for making a mistake.
