I'm well aware that I'm late on this, but I watched Interstellar last night. So much more than I expected. Nolan goes so much further "down the wormhole", so to speak, than I have ever experienced in a major motion picture. The movie also had a few learning moments; I like movies that make me think. Just the cause & effect being so critical in everything going on kept me engaged completely. 9/10

I think you're the guy that got me hip to these dudes years ago. I was watching Mr. Plinkett next to the wife the other day actually and she's like "omg, wtf are you watching!?!"

Haha yeah Plinkett's reviews are the best. It's really impressive that he can rip on a movie for over an hour and keep it entertaining the whole time.

Mad Max: Fury Road. 8.5/10.

If you liked Road Warrior or Beyond Thunderdome, you will LOVE this. Pretty much takes the best parts of those 2 and leaves out the stupid stuff. Keeps the same tone as the previous movies as well. I didn't see it in 3D, but wish I had. Visuals were great.

Only complaint: Max wasn't really the central character. You could make a case he was the 3rd or 4th most important character in a movie called Mad Max.

I'm a huge Mad Max fan... but Thunderdome was absolute horse shit.

This movie, just from the trailers, seems way, way more like Thunderdome and almost nothing like the original Mad Max (with Road Warrior obviously somewhere in between).

Also, I don't understand what you mean by "same tone" as the other two, because Thunderdome was nothing really like the Road Warrior. Can you... elaborate a bit?

I'm interested to see this film, but I'm worried that this is more a vehicle for Charlize Theron to become Furiosa in a new set of films rather than Max being rebooted on the big screen.

Again, just going from the trailers and marketing and what I've heard, but Max seems like he's almost doing cameo appearances, he's not very central to the plot..

Yeah.. exactly...

Would you say this movie is more like Thunderdome or more like Road Warrior, and I take it there's just no element whatsoever from the original Mad Max (my favorite of the films)?

The first Mad Max was my favorite, too ("I am a rocker...I am a roller"). Liked the Road Warrior. Didn't like Beyond Thunderdome, so we are in agreement.

Of the three it is definitely the most like Road Warrior. Think the chase scene at the end, but make it into a whole movie.

Tone might have been a bad word. Style? Setting? Design? I was afraid it would look like a Fast and Furious movie, but it really looked like and higher def version of RW and BT.

I saw Mad Max and am completely baffled by how high it's being rated. I thought the movie was over acted and the fight scenes were way over the top, bordering on ridiculous. I've never seen any other mad max movies so maybe I'm off here. I thought the movie was pretty lackluster overall.

Oh... okay damn...

Care to go into more detail? Was Max awesome in this movie or was he a background character?

To me, the plot felt way more tied to the wives and Furiosa than it did to Max. Max definitely had a couple decent scenes but I wouldn't say anything really great.

..stop what you're doing and see mad max.

I have never seen anything even close to the same level of cinematography and vibrance as the first 45 minutes

If you were going to see "Tom Hardy kicks ass in action movie", then you'll be disappointed. And I understand the sentiment. Hardy is awesome is most everything he does.

But you kinda have to go in with the mindset of what the previous films were like.

The car with the drums and fire spitting guitar: awesome or awesomest
