ooook....so ill just pretend that he ddnt say that....next time I wont explain how I think he is wrong

im not the one who went there....anytime I talk about the buckeyes someone has somethig stupid to say but you always seem to forget about that

I was in here talking aotu buckeye stuff and I get a stupid comment to whihc I defended UM recruting.....if you dont want OSU vs UM tell the buckeye fans not to start it

if they start it I will finish it

Cali was responding to this post by you. You started it, as always.

I have seen Martin play live this year....and he is a beast

all the insiders at UM have been counting on Matin heading to OSU so I dont even bother worrying about him..
No one cares that Michigan isn't worried about losing a kid to OSU. We're talking about Ohio State in here. Get over yourself.

I was stating that Ben Martin is an excellent player....Um wanted him but are out of the race now so I cant worry about him

I spend too much time with recruting so I have information abotu buckeye players that can be informational

in no way is that a dig at Ohio State....I was simply stating he is a national recruit and I think he will end up a buckeye from what all of the inside UM people have been saying

then Cali gives UM a dig for no reason when I am complimenting OSU

Just listening to this week's BRH, and it sounds like Rolle, Martin, Barksdale, and Brent are all Buckeye locks. D Long stated that he's not convinced on Wright and Davis yet, mainly b/c of the number of visits remaining on the docket.

It was funny listening to NevadaBuck talk about the current recruiting scene. Paraphrasing here:

"Right now we're in an ideal situation, being #1 all year, our games all nationally televised, coming off a win in one of the most hyped game ever, and Smith about to win the Heisman. We have soooo many blue chip recruits that want to come here, and a limited number of schollies, we're really picking, not recruiting. :chuckles: Ohio States recruiting is just an embarassment of riches right now. And looking at what JT's been doing and where we stand with recruits in future classes, it doesn't look like that's going to change any time soon."

The latest news after the big game: OSU now leads for OT Anthony Davis, LB Brian Rolle, and S Major Wright.

Concerning Davis: :woohoo:
http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=145&p=8&c=1&nid=1885246
I had him as the #1 remaining recruiting priority. You're talking about the #2 tackle in the nation. This kid has stud written all over him. He looks like the next Korey Stringer. He could step into our two deep at LT next year, and immediately be better than Schafer. Speaking of which, here's how I see the 2 deep next year:

LT Boone, Davis
LG Rehring, Mitchum
C Cordle, Whaley
RG Person, Browning
RT Barton, Skinner

Daddy like. Add in the fab four in next year's class, and the machine just keeps on a-rollin!

Brian Rolle doesn't get me overly excited.
http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=145&p=8&c=1&nid=2430522
He's a three star player at a position with zero need, and his measurables are poor in size (5'11" height) and just average in speed (4.6 forty). However, he has a nice offer list, and from what I hear he really stands out on video. Just have to trust the coaches on this one that they know a player when they see one.

Then there is Major Wright:
http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=145&p=8&c=1&nid=2409296
At first I wasn't overly excited about this one either, as there is even less need at Safety than there is at LB; however, he's 4 stars, has decent measurables, and a very impressive offer list, so I was willing to settle for him. Then I heard that his video was unbelievable. This kid has a mean streak and is just a devastating hitter. He looks like the next Ronnie Lott. Yeah, I suppose I can settle for the next Ronnie Lott.

In other news, it looks like Ohio State is no longer interested in O'Dowd and Gronkowski. No word on what's up with O'Dowd, but I'm hearing Gronkowski is a bad character kid. Which is a shame, as the Buckeyes could really use a TE in this class and I wanted him. Oh well, OSU did get two TEs last year, and one of them (Ballard) looks like a total stud, so they should be ok there.
Rolle= Stud

Gronkoswski I would have to say he a buckeye lean after his vistit

I say that our red-shirts from the 2006 class might be as good as anyone else’s full class for 2007. Think about it…

Ty Moeller: Either the next Cie Grant or the next Donnie Nickey.

Mark Johnson: The #1 MLB last year in California

Thaddeus Gibson: Of all the great ‘backers in the past five years, Duane Long thinks TG has the most upside potential.

Grant Schwartz: Super fast and super hitter safety from a great pedigree.

Aaron Gant: I know – he’s already on the field; but just barely. The “just barely” part changes next season.

Aram Olson: A ram. He will be butting heads with many opposing linebackers for many seasons to come.

Antonio Henton: A bigger version of Troy Smith? We can only hope.

Connor Smith: Probably the premier O-lineman in Ohio last year.

Bryant Browning: Oft-overlooked in the recruiting process, the coaches rave about this mountain of a lineman, who was also the valedictorian at Glenville in 2006.

Chimdi Chekwa: Comparisons to Youboty extend beyond the exotic name.

Dexter Larimore: A national wrestling champ and a guy in the Tim Anderson mold.

Walter Dublin: Can play all the D-line spots – he will play one of them.

Andy Miller: A very big and mobile tight end.

Which reminds me, I totally forgot Conner Smith here:

The mo' O-linemen, the mo' better.

I hear on good authority that Dionte Allen will renege on his verbal commitment to FSU and join his friends at The Ohio State University.

http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=145&p=8&c=1&nid=2275714

We should land Barksdale, Allen and Washington from the state up North - WOW! JT is the man.

It does not look like OSU will garner many verbals prior to the Army All-American Bowl. All Buckeye fans should pay attention to that game!

Rolle will commit soon. Maybe this weekend

Clay is down to three schools, Wisky, Iowa, and the good guys: http://story.scout.com/a.z?s=145&p=2&c=595537

With Beanie likely the only returning RB that's worth anything (excuse me if Mo Wells doesn't excite me), it would be nice to have another 5 star back in the fold. This kid sounds like Beanie Wells part 2.

The Buckeyes just offered a scholarship to Rocco Pentello, who immediately accepted:

http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=145&p=8&c=1&nid=2641881

Why is Ohio State signing a two star kid at a position of zero? Not only do they have plenty of safeties already on the roster (with just Mitchell leaving), but Pontello is the FOURTH saftey they're taking in a class that will likely number about 18. The other three have are 4 and 5 star kids, the third, sixth, and seventh best safties in the nation. Pontello has two stars and is unranked. And oh yeah, the next Ronnie Lott (Major Wright) is supposedly a Buckeye lock.

OSU has very few scholarships, and a ton of 4 and 5 star kids vying for them, and then they pull this. What am I missing?

Edit: Hmmm, just looking over his offer list and I guess I was wrong. I mean, if he's good enough for Akron, Cincinatti, and Toledo to offer, than of couse Ohio State wants him. How silly of me!

That's the only thing I can figure is that these kids can't all be playing safety. Scout has them all as safeties, but I don't believe that's how it will end up. D Long was saying he thinks Clifford could be an all american Braylon Edwards type at WR, and that it's a waste of his great talent to put him at safety.

Even if these kids aren't all playing safety, he's still just 2 stars, with OSU having their pick of 4 and 5 star kids. I guess we just have to trust the coaches on this one. JT has proved the recruiting experts wrong repeatedly.

OK, I heard back from my "special" source on Rocco. The word is not encouraging:
This one has the “insiders” flummoxed. I heard he was going to be a preferred walk-on, now he gets a ship at a position where we have absolutely no need. Someone please explain this to me!!??

The obvious conclusion is that we have decided to pass on Major Wright for whatever reason (grades, character). Why they reach for a “C” level option is beyond me. Maybe we will be talking of him in the same way we talk now of Robiskie, but at least Robiske had an offer from Miami…

We “stole” this kid from Akron/Toledo.

I was just listening to this week's Bucknuts Radio Hour, and they asked Duane Long (their recruiting expert) about Rocco:
"He's a really good football player. I've seen him live 3 times this year, and he was the best player on the field every time. He plays QB and safety. He's going to be a safety here. He's got decent size. He's a SMART guy. You could just see he was thinking on a whole other level on the football field. He runs under 4.5. He is 6' tall. This is one of the most overlooked kids in the state. Will play safety, special teams, and could even be an emergency qb. He's going to get on the field early. With so many of these guys OSU has gone off the board for, they didn't just have success, they had EARLY success. That means they didn't go out and get a project, they found some guy who could play right away."

OK, I feel a little better.

Also, they had stud TE Gronkowski on BRH:

Biddle: "What are your thoughts on the Buckeyes in the national title game?"
Gronkowski: "I'm hoping they win. It would just be amazing knowing that I'm going to a school that just won the national championship."

I'm probably reading too much into this, but that sure sounds like he just said he's going to Ohio State.
