Ricky Davis at it again

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I definitely watched the Cavs lose game after game after game..hell it got so bad that when Milt Palacio was left off of NBA Live in 02 I went out of my way to get him from the Phoenix Suns..as if it mattered. I was looking for anything to grab on to it was depressing..

I always thought the triple-double attempt vs. the Jazz was a little overblown. Childish? Yes. Selfish? Sure. But that was only the Cavs 12th win that year and they blew out a playoff team at home. I'm sure Ricky got caught up in the moment and made a dumb mistake. Countless other players have done a lot worse in their personal lives and aren't labeled as villians the way Ricky was.

Honestly, I was mostly entertained by Ricky. I went to more games than I care to admit between 2000-2003 (luckily, most were free tickets) and Andre Miller, Ricky Davis, and a young Boozer (pre-backstabbing) were the lone bright spots in a bleak basketball future pre-LeBron.

And if you're gonna point out bad things about Ricky, it's only fair to point out some good things too. He did supply fans in both Cleveland and Boston with free season tickets for being dedicated fans. "Ricky's Renegades" in Cleveland and the "Get Buckets Brigade" in Boston.

No everyone hates him because the fans went out of their way to show support for that terrible excuse for a team and Ricky responded by calling Cleveland "A Black Hole" and saying "I don't know why anyone would want to play there" It's like going up to the fattest ugliest kid at recess and just informing him of how ugly and morbidly obese he really is. He knows how fat and unattractive he is just like we knew how terrible we were. It really needed no further re-hashing.

He was so excited to get to Boston "Whoo!" That lasted a while before he was dealt for Wally Szcerbiak which is the equivalent to a Huffy with a missing tire..

Then he gets to Minnesota "Whoo!" Paired up with KG and Mike James..they actually had to use the visiting locker room becaused 3 reporters were killed after a loss to the Clippers when the ego became so strong that the reporters aformentioned spontaneously combusted..

It's really a weird state of affairs...Ricky spinned off the 42 points as an homage to Jackie Robinson and Mike James has Randy Foye and Mark Madsen convinced that he's christ reincarnated.

With that said I have no problem with Ricky Davis.

There was never a documentation of him asking to get back in the game after the game was over. Now you are just making things up....

I suffered through all 82 games via NBA League pass that year. Go back and look at the many blowouts and see the number of minutes he logged that year and see how may games he played while the other 4 starters rested

last night when his Twolves were getting blown out and were down 40 points going into the 4th quarter. what starter stays in and logs 45 minutes!

if you look back in the 17 win season you'll see the same MO.

Ricky getting his while his team tanks.

ricky has talent , ricky was flashy, ricky has done some nice things in the communities he has played

but the selfless scoring he did in the 17 win that went to his head was hs ultimate undoing here

he developed a me first rep from that classless self serving move in the Utah game that year and he will have to live down his whole career. staying in the game in a 40 point blowout to score 42 points in garbage time isn't going to change his rep

next thing you know someone will be "fondly" pining over Darius Miles

I'm just saying that I have a lot more guys to dislike in the NBA than Ricky Davis. For the record here is a direct quote from him shortly after being traded to the Celtics:

"I was glad to be out of the black hole. It was terrible over there. The organization. No system. The town. Everything. The GM. All of it is kind of backward. Its good to be in a winning organization that has a system and knows whats going on."

Pretty harsh words - but probably more out of frustration towards LBJ taking over the team and his clashes with Silas. I really have no idea why he took a shot at the city... but if he's happier now playing for losing teams then so be it. Hope he has fun watching the playoffs for the 2nd year in a row ;)

Wait a second...wait a second....did Juanny Wags and our boy Darius Miles just make a cameo apperance together?? What is this!? heh heh...

Man he had some ****in amazing dunks while he was with the Cavs...I didn't remember all those.

I'd give my lefty for Smush Parker back..

Hey Ricky...welcome to the "black hole" B****. Everytime we play him and LBJ throws down 2 or 3 sick dunks, I just smile all night.
