Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar has been placed on the ineligible list after MLB investigated a 2014 allegation of sexual misconduct. He had been working for MLB as a consultant.

Edit: While I believe items related to Roberto should not reflect/ impact Sandy Jr, I have to wonder if there has already been wary eyes toward Sandy (since he has not gotten any manager interviews over the past few years)

Sexual Misconduct at work place, no details, but to get completely banned.....yeesh

Edit. Not a quick decision by MLB, he was working for MLB in Puerto Rico...major allegation against him, then MLB hired an independent law firm to look into it. Their report and evidence came back and MLB put him on the ineligible list. Not a good look for Roberto.

HoF said his enshrinement will remain in place. However, I assume the door is open for that to change if new information comes to light.

The Blue Jays are removing his banner honoring his retired number.

Kind of a shocker to me, I always thought he was in the closet.

Or just change his retired number to 69.

Too soon?

I mean is it reported the gender of the person he sexually harassed?

When has the HOF cared about off the field stuff ( I guess they have selectively kept certain people out such as the steroid guys and Pete Rose but yet Dave Winfield gets a pass along with guys like Ty Cobb, Rogers Hornsby, the amphetamine era and on and on). Plenty of not so great guys in the Hall.

what did Dave Winfield do?

So I am not going to try top defend Robbie, and 2014 wasn't that long ago, but the question to me is where does it stop when it comes to the hall and retired numbers and ... In the workplace, for MLB, I get it completely. He is their employee and it is their discretion and rightfully so.

But once you start looking backwards and applying standards from today to a different era ... then you bump up against almost anyone that has a retired number or HOF in the past - they all were part of an enhanced substance era in one form or another. They played during segregation, and by todays standards that makes them complicit and on and on.

Do not want this to be political, it is just a real question when you hear of teams taking down retired numbers, HOF possibly rescinding status. Where does the line get drawn.
