Sacramento Kings

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Sacramento Kings Total Cluster-fudge

Honestly.. I think the Kings could steal a playoff spot this season. They could potentially be a Phoenix Suns type team with a blistering fast offense and no defense.

Some stats from last season:

- Fastest paced team in the NBA

- 6th in points per game

- 5th best turnover ratio (number of offensive possessions that end in a turnover)

- 6th best offensive rebound rate (ORR)

- 26th in True Shooting% (TS%)

Surely, part of the reasons their TS% is so low is due to poor shot selection, but if they can improve on this.. I think they could surprise a lot of people. This season they have more depth so they can try to run the other team out of the gym for 48 minutes.

I'm not really expecting it to happen, but I'm just saying it's definitely possible.

Re: Sacramento Kings Total Cluster-fudge

They haven't had a real head coach since Adelman left. No disrespect to Eric Musselman, but he showed he wasn't ready to lead an NBA team. Then Reggie Theus and Paul Westphal followed. Ouch.

Just announced that Keith Smart has been given another 1-year extension. Smart will coach the Kings through the 2013-2014 season. :uhh:

Wow, firing up the tank for this season (and next) before it even gets underway? Impressive Sacramento, very impressive.

Suddenly, all of the Andre Miller era Cavs coaches are keeping their jobs stable... Wittman with Wizards, Smart with Kings, and Woodson with Knicks. What's next? Does John Lucas re-enter the fray?

Last I heard, Lucas got sick of life-coaching JaMarcus Russell...ha.

Re: Sacramento Kings Total Cluster-fudge

Bump. If the Nba keeps handing out suspensions to the Kings like that, we will never see that pick... I mean 2 games suspension for having an argument with an announcer? Really? Though Cousins has a history of bad behaviour, he only should have been fined for that, not suspended.

Like us, the Kings are now 2-5. Without Cousins, they are playing against Portland on Tuesday.

Hopefully Thomas Robinson pans out and they improve on last season, but we propably wont sniff that pick till 2015-2017.

Re: Sacramento Kings Total Cluster-fudge

they played and lost to the lakers without thier two best bigs. duh.. They are not going to be a great team, but they will get better when:

a) thier big guys return
b) they trade Tyreke Evans.

He tried to physically confront Sean Elliot after the game. He also has, shall we say, a history dating back to his days in Mobile. Cousins can play ball, but he is a loose cannon.

We are never going to see this pick lol.

I never expected to see it this year. Two or three years from now is when we'll see it. We don't need it this year. Better to have our extra picks spread out. It should come in at a time when our own pick is worse then that pick.

No... we are NEVER going to see this pick. It was so heavily guarded that anyone not looking through wine and gold colored glasses said as much when the pick was made.

I still think Sacto will look to move before they ever have a chance at making the playoffs.

It's not so easily protected that we can't get a second round in 2017.

I mean, they have to be on the top five teams in the league that year for the pick to not be ensured.

Re: Sacramento Kings Total Cluster-fudge

Anyone else see the only hope here might be a Memphis Grizzlies style turnaround in spite of the chaos of the current roster? I think it would be a huge boon to us if we get a mid 1st round pick in 2/3 years so I actually hope that they can turn it around then rather than right away. The trade could be an asset a couple years down the road.

Re: Sacramento Kings Total Cluster-fudge

It was a horrible trade from go, regardless of how a then-mediocre Casspi turned out. JJ is improving, sure and he might even make it part of the way to his ceiling, but that's not the worst part. The worst part was the heavy protection on the pick. They made a trade with one of the worst franchises in sports and counted on them becoming a playoff team within a few years. Horrible.

It's irrelevant that Sacramento was stupid enough to let JJ go too. This was definitely the worst move the Cavs have made in a while.

I think J.J. needed a wake up call. He needed to be dismissed from two bad teams. He was talking about a huge contract, near max money, while completely ignoring coaching. I'm glad he is getting his head straight, but how do we know that would happen without a swift kick in the ass?
