Sasha Blinks, Varejao Continues Stand Off

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Anderson is the biggest loser in the situation. This is a result of a poorly concieved strategy by his agent and with his consent.

AV is the biggest loser, but apparently not just in this situation, if you dissect what is actually happening. If he is putting this much trust in something that his brother has no experience with, then obviously he is not capable of thinking for himself. He is ending up looking like what we would normally think is just a horrible stereotype of a dumb jock. When he comes back, his first interview is going to go something like this(in a thick accented broken English): I just want play basketball. I just want be here for my teammates. They support me throughout ordeal. I happy to be with team. I give 110% on court. I say hello to family...Hi, Mama!"

What about the rest of his life? He is going to be broke after his career is ended by an injury, and he finds out Fegan and Sandro embezzled all of his money and padded their own accounts. It's a shame that his own flesh and blood is trying to take advantage of him like this, just so he doesn't have to get a real job. To me, it's obvious what Fegan is trying to do...he recognizes that Brazil is a hotbed for basketball talent, and he is trying to corner the market. They are easily influenced, as most come from relatively poor backgrounds, and the more green Fegan gets these guys, the more these ignorant youngsters are going to look to him. Add to that, the promises of giving family members jobs, legitimately, or not, and this gets real shady.

I'd be willing to bet that AV is not hurting for money right now, especially if Fegan believes he can strongarm the Cavs (or find a sign and trade partner) into giving Andy what he believes he wants. I'm sure he's funneling funds directly to him (or Sandro), as company expenses (you know, for tax purposes), and whispering to him that he'll just take this out of the big fat contract that he lands him...to think of it as a loan...meanwhile Fegan makes out because he will get the money back, and use it as a tax deduction for a business expense...quite a shrewd move, actually...ethically and morally irresponsible, and possible illegal, but definitely smart. It's a win-win for him.

If this is the case, it may be a long time before we see AV in a uniform.
