Out of curiosity, how have posters here watched so much tape of Kaun?
Israeli fans saw him since CSKA played Maccabi a lot these past few years.

Personally, I think he is one of many great european players who will physically struggle in the NBA.
If there is a good deal (San Antonio?) to be made with his rights, I say go for it.

Depending how much a team will pay for Kaun yes. This could end up very well. I hate to put it this way but this is like NBA over sea... I hope you get the point.

If not this is like taking in lets say "Fools games" As EA. EA owns the rights to Fools Games even though they can go or do anything they want for a pay check. Now someone wants to buy Fools Games and EA holds the rights to their company. That means the said company can sign or reject any offer it feels will or will not help them. So if a team over pays for his rights you better know the FO will be all over it.

Ettore Messina, who is now an assistant with the Spurs, coached Kaun for three seasons with CSKA Moscow. So their interest makes sense.

I imagine the offers are 2nd round picks, and they'll probably end up taking one.

Or part of a larger Haywood deal. Looking forward to seeing what happens.

The only way I'd really want Splitter here if we do a salary dump with the Spurs is to get one of Mills or Joseph (rather have Mills). Would gladly use Kaun for that along with Haywood.

I doubt this is the route we'd go, but is there any chance we'd package Kaun with our 24th pick to move up into the late teens in the draft? If there's a group of players we're targeting sometime after the lottery picks, maybe Kaun helps us land one of them.

The draft is a better tool for rebuilding older or younger teams than a team who just started their Finals run window. I doubt this scenario happens.

Earl Clark, Sergey Karasev and Jarrett Jack for Haywood + Kaun.

... Sorry.

Jack and Karasev would actually fill roles here...and Jack has an easily tradeable contract for next season if he didn't work out.

I would die if we somehow got back RHJ...judging by who we drafted, and that we tried to acquire him after Portland drafted him, that there was a lot of interest on our end there...I don't see why Brooklyn would do that, but who knows with Prokhorov, dude loves his Russians.
