Series Ten - Oakland A's vs. Cleveland Indians - May 3, 4, 5

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Looking better ! Lol

But let's gear up for another possible sweep. I hate this stadium though.

I'll tell you what, if we do sweep and the Tribe comes home to another 14,000...i will slowly get convinced that Marlins fans are better than us.

I was disappoined in Sunday's crowd when I was there. It was nice, it was the weekend. No more damn excuses, this team is for real ! I was bullshitting with my neighbor at the Sunday's game about the attendance, and he said many people just hate the Dolans and want new ownership. I said as of now were the best team in the league, promising young players, and just exciting to watch. Dont worry about the owners when we have a talented team playing grade A baseball..

When are people going to understand that people not going to games is more about not being able to afford to go instead of people just refusing to support them? Having a small population doesn't help either. Why do you think NY sells out every game? It isn't just because they are always good, it is because they have a bazillion people in NY.

Unfortunately, I don't think the Dolan's have much of anything to do with the attendance. I think the city of Cleveland is extremely fairweathered when it comes to baseball. Football? Probably not. Basketball? Apparently not, not when you have the awful team we did and you're still selling out games at the beginning of the season. But as far as baseball is concerned, for some reason, the fans pour in when we have a really good team. As soon as people realize this team is in 1st place, and the ASB rolls around, you'll see lots of people starting to come to games.

It's a shame. As much as I love baseball, I am probably bias towards the sport, but I feel like LOTS of people (2x the amount that are) should be going to the games right now. Marlin fans aren't any better than us... it's just, for the most part, Marlin fans are as good as... well, I shouldn't say us... but... us

A bazillion people that can afford those crazily priced tickets.

PS - I DO still want suggestions as to what else I can add to these series threads to make them even better. Any feedback is greatly appreciated! :)

I'm doing this for all of you guys <3 lol

The Cavs were selling out early because people were still showing their post LeBron support. I can essentially guarantee you that attendance will plummet if they don't turn it around soon. The only team that really gets a pass is the Browns and even that's starting to fade a bit. I guess a full decade of absolute suck can do that to a franchise.

What is with the upper level? Are those seats? Also, LOL@ Their bullpen.

Yeah... I think it's that, and it's the fact that we are Cleveland, OH; and as previously stated, we do not have a large population (like some of the other big cities). Not only that, but the majority of Cleveland is broke...

That doesn't usually help.

Chardon -- can't see your stupid picture.

The tickets are affordable, just eat dinner before you go. People talk about not being able to afford and were in this "recession". Why is it that restaurants are all ways jam packed?

As seen by my other thread, I'm not physically able to get to games. I'll be there for the next series though, and I'm going to be dragging my girlfriend along. I can promise at least 14,002. I hope thats good enough for you

I don't post often but I read every day... Anyways I'll be at the game on Wednesday wearing my Indians jersey. Right by third base, long haired white boy haha. Go Tribe!

The cheapest tickets are always the ones available. Bleachers $10, half way full. Nosebleeds, 7 bucks and never full. there was one fan in the nosebleeds sunday, and that was the K sign guy.

You sort of explained it yourself. Throw in 3 extra bucks for way better seats? Why not? And if the bleachers aren't full. Sell out the bleachers and than that's when you get nosebleed ticket sales.

In 2006, the Athletics covered the entire third deck with a tarp, reducing capacity to 34,077—the smallest capacity in the majors. For the 2008 season, Sections 316–318 of the 3rd deck behind home plate were re-opened as the A's introduced their own "All-You-Can-Eat" seating area, similar to the right field bleachers at Dodger Stadium. This has increased the Coliseum's capacity for baseball to 35,067 - still very small. For the 2009 season, seats were $35 and only sold on a single game basis; All-You-Can-Eat seating was offered for every game in 2008, but for 2009 the section was only open for weekend games (Friday-Sunday) & all games against the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, and San Francisco Giants. For 2010, the A's discontinued All-You-Can-Eat, instead rebranding the area as the "Value Deck". Prices for these seats have decreased to $12 and are sold for every game ($15 price for premium games). To help compensate for the loss of AYCE, the A's have introduced Jumbo-Tickets that have stored stadium credit for food & merchandise ($10 on Plaza Club tickets & $6 for Value Deck tickets). Even if the game is otherwise sold out, the A's will not sell any seats in the area that remains covered. An exception may be made when the A's return to the post-season. However, the A's did not remove the tarp during the 2006 postseason.

I hope you are not being serious? I've been a baseball fan of Cleveland for years, all sports, and went to many games just a few years ago, making the 2 hour drive. Sometimes I'd stay at a hotel and see the weekend games, and sometimes I would drive up and drive back home same day or night. I LOVE the Tribe. I have not and cannot at this time go to a game. Do you realize how many of us are now unemployed? Do you think we would forego the grocery store or our bills and spend that scarce money on gasoline and tickets? Nope. Won't happen. It costs more than a couple dollars to attend an Indians game for me. Heck, the $15 parking, or whatever it might be this year is lots of money if you don't have a damn job.

Tribe loses this series- I just don't see Tomlin and Gomez beating Cahill and Anderson.

It's more about is the A's offense good enough to score more then 2 runs a game. Their offense sucks we got a shot at all three games!
