"Sources familiar with the situation said the split was caused because the pair did not see eye to eye with the front office about quarterback Johnny Manziel. The front office wants Manziel to be the starter, and the source said the coaches do not believe they can win with him."

How are both of these things true?
Scary, scary stuff if the front office believes this strongly about Manziel being the future.
I would really like to know once and for all what "front office" means with the Browns.
I don't see anyone besides Haslam that 'front office' could possibly be referring to. Is there anyone else in the organization who has significant power / tenure? After the house cleaning at the end of last season is there anyone else left it could be attributed to?

I wouldn't be happy with it, but I would at least like to have confirmation that we have Jerry Jones Lite as our owner.
Eh...Far worse than anything Lerner did.
Eh...
Butch Davis single-handedly set this franchise back about 5 years.

If he didn't have the power & only coached, he'd have been fine.
At 9-7...He led them to their only playoff appearance.
Anyone else yearning for the good old days of Randy Lerner watching the games on Sunday from a pub in Birmingham, England?
Agreed, but therein lies my argument. A Lerner screw up to give him the power.
At 9-7...
And drafted the likes of:
Gerard Warren
Quincy Morgan
William Green
Jeff Faine
Chaun Thompson
Andre Davis (WR)
And those are just rounds 1 and 2... Shall I continue?
Not really. It definitely leads to some crazy situations like today, but I'd rather have an owner fully invested in trying to make the team good like Jimmy or Danny G than somebody like Lerner or the Dolans.
