I like what Haslam and Banner are doing with the non-football side of things. Looks like they are bringing in high level difference makers on the executive level. The Browns, for too long it seems, have rested on the fact that they are the Browns and are owed loyalty by the fans. I always thought the organization was the worst run in town not just because of the play on the field but everything else that goes with integrating the team with the city. Their game day presentation is always terrible, they have an arrogance to them with regards to their fans and their PR department is awful. I'm looking forward to a better promotion of the Browns both locally and nationally, a better game day experience, creative ticket packages, better community outreach and a more buttoned up public/media relations department that actually teaches players/coaches/gms how to speak to the media.
On the football side- I remain extremely skeptical of the moves. I'm moving on from Heckert, even if I don't like it. If they hire Lombardi, I'm not sure I can be on board with the hire unless we see immediate success next year. Chip Kelly is a big boom or bust guy. He will either be great or a complete flop. Track record for guys with zero NFL experience is not good. Plus his system which is built on speed doesn't mesh with the offensive players on the roster. I think he'd be best to find a job in a warm weather climate (SD) or a dome team.
