Since when is Anderson ready to be an NBA Starter?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
that's almost all we really need from the PF anyway. hustle, quick and smart defensive rotation, energetic rebounding, the odd putback or two... we get that, and AV would be a great backup PF getting substantial minutes

Yeah.. substantial minutes is what I'd look for. :)

err I can't wait for him to come back alreadyyyyy..IMO he'll help immensely.

No way would you start Varejao. His strengths are best suited off the bench being a tempo lifter. His style would be cramped as a starter, with his aggressive play likely to lead to foul trouble.

Marshall starting is a no brainer. This also means dependable forward Alan Henderson increases his role and we may see Hamilton here and there.

Remember if we do move Gooden for a guard, we have a draft pick and the MLE to restock up front. Not an issue to replace Gooden whatsoever.

Great post. Henderson is more than capable of increased backup minutes, and Marshall can obviously slide right in as a starter and not miss a beat.

Varejao to me is most valuable (right now) as a backup big man behind Z, and about 10-15 mins a night behind Marshall. Going forward we can groom him for the starter spot, he has all the intangibles of the type of player who succeeds on a contender.

Thank you for posting Benedict... I agree with everything your Avatar had to say... :chuckles:

Gooden is soft and inconsistent...BYE

...and young. I Gooden is not that soft in my opinion. He fights, he hustles, he gets bumped and I have seen him get popped pretty good at times.

Goodens problem is that he not make smart moves on both ends of the court and like you said...consistency. The thing is, both of those things improve over time. Gooden has athleticism, he can rebound, score, block shots, steal the ball and play decent D. He isn't a headcase or a complainer.

If he wants a lot of money next year, let him go. If we can equal or great value at a more pressing position, trade him. But to just get rid of him because we think he is soft, not a good idea.

He doesn't bring that intensity, hustle, rebounding, scoring, and defense on the road.. He is the primary reason for our road struggles...

We know we can't get much from Snow offensively... But, when we are on the road, the games (usually our starting lineup) goes 3 on 5 because of Drew's lack of execution... Especially as of late...

I refuse to be fooled by a solid Drew Gooden home performance here and there...
