So long, David Griffin

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What are some of the mistakes he admitted to making? Because Jack being signed to a bad contract isn't his.

I'd assume the biggest one being the trade of Tyler Zeller to Boston, in which we traded Tyler and a future first rd pick for a second rd pick.

Under normal circumstances we never make that deal.....but we needed the cap space. And to take Tyler off the books we shipped him out with a future 1st rounder.

But at the time, when a lot of people were pissed about it, you also had the sense they were clearing space for LeBrons return. You obviously make that trade all day long if it means signing the best player in the world.

It was also mildly amusing to watch Danny Ainge be the conduit to the Cavs getting LeBron since he and Riley seem to have some long-standing beef.

I loved Griff's interview during the second quarter, especially when he was asked about if this was fair to the fans.

I don't remember the exact quote, but he basically said he's thinking about Cavs fans, and we hold the team to Championship expectations.

A - MOTHERFUCKING - MEN, BROTHER

We hear a lot of stories about people who who travel and spend money to see LeBron in person, and how unfair it is to them. Guess who spends a shit ton more money to see LeBron? ACTUAL CAVS FANS IN CLEVELAND WHO SELL OUT WATCH PARTIES IN MINUTES!

I am glad the organization is looking out for their actual fans, not the fairweather/marginal fans ESPiN all of a sudden has a hard on for.

Regarding GS

This is good shit here by Griff. He's taking charge. I hate the NBA resting, but i understand that they need to cater to the players and fix it soon as right now that takes into effect next season.

Fixing it creates a overall better experience for the customers.

I actually agree with the approach that Griff took on this. Even if all 3 of the Big 3 played tonight, the energy exerted to get the win against the Clippers would be higher than the energy to get a win against the Lakers. The league knows who they want in national games when they make the schedule, why have them on back to backs.

The league and networks should also have backup plans for national games like this. Having more advance notice of rest, ABC could have flew their announcing crew to another game and used the local feed. The production value might take a hit but how many viewer were lost by the horrible announcing and play of the game tonight. I'm not sure what they do for Cavs and clippers fans, maybe flex it to NBA TV with a B announcing crew.

I thought she asked fair questions to be honest. After all, it's her job to. But Griffin answered all of them with ease.

I feel for some of these fans, I don't think anyone is saying you shouldn't have empathy. But when you pay for these tickets there's no guarantee to see that player. Everyone knows this.

If you don't feel comfortable with that risk, then don't buy the ticket.

Fans as of the Cavs, we don't want LeBron worn down so he can't win a title.

For these old school drooling idiots that go on about guys like Jordan never took days off.

LeBron is 32 and has started in more games than Jordan in his entire career. So please, shut the fuck up.

Why does it seem like people go crazy when we rest guys. Other teams do it all the fucking time. Yet we get a call from Adam silver and you have vets like Karl Malone bitching about it.

It's really the Lebron effect, people are just waiting to pounce on anything they can. The guy rarely misses games and plays huge minutes, if he sits for rest no one can say shit he has earned it.

Just irks me. This is not the first time, whenever we sit guys it's this huge deal in the press. Good for griff holding his ground.

To be honest, this was a stupid night to rest everybody.

We could have played tonight for the W then rested everybody tomorrow. Not only would it have given the starters 3 consecutive days of rest, but with the Lakers actively tanking we would have had a decent chance even without 3/5 of the starting lineup.

I think it was an unwritten rule from the baron davis trade that we had to gift them 1 win a year for the next 10 years

Meh...

From the sounds of things, even if we were trying they were going to be cautious with Kyrie and Kevin regardless due to their health...and if that's the case, why even play LeBron? Think that's where their heads were at.

Makes sense to give both of them as much rest in between after dealing with knee shit. Would rather err on the cautious side, than the advantageous side.

Like Griff side, team is worrying about giving us a championship, not a win in March.

They could have rested tomorrow, which would have made more sense both logically and tactically.

It's whatever though. The Cavs have pissed away so many games this year that I shouldn't act surprised when they do it again.

Oh shit a Jaymoney post HAAYYYYY! Mi Boi, #LoseAh! Nawmean? Okay all jokes aside, what are you talking about? I feel you are to close for comfort and take the team to serious. So then can you tell me when Korver is coming back? I really want to know.

I never agree with this approach. You don't take decent odds at winning one game and poor odds at winning the second over no odds at winning one game and near guaranteed odds at winning the second.

Have you seen this team without those 3? Its a near zero percent chance of them winning against the Lakers on a back to back resting those 3.

So they made the right decision. Take the guaranteed win instead of taking a real risk at going 0 and 2.

People are lying to themselves if they think this team would beat ANY team in the league without those three. Let alone on a back to back.
