Sources: Nets, Nuggets reach agreement; now it's up to Carmelo Anthony to say yes

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You need to be more worried about DH and CP3 or Deron Williams teaming up in LA. I think that's pretty much a given imo.
a given in what universe? because it's certainly not in the one where LA owes $45M+ to Kobe and Gasol alone.

unless you were talking about the Clippers, in which case....good luck convincing players to play for Sterling. or being able to dump Baron for contracts that expire a year earlier.

Will the Knicks have any cap space over the years? Like somebody on here posted the Miami 3 signed for a combined $43 million. NY's big 2 will be signed for a combined $40 million. CP3 and Deron Williams want to get paid and win. I'm starting to doubt one of them make their way to NY when they are free agents.

Yep, what I said. . . the Knicks essentially have $40 million tied between Melo and Amar'e and unless they fill their roster with expirings next year, they won't have the $$$ to persuade another star to join and even if they did only have Melo and Amar'e only in the pay roll, the 3rd guy would have to take a huge pay cut.

And that's assuming the new CBA doesn't change the salary cap, which is VERY unlikely. Really, it's going to take an incredibly lopsided that could cost someone a job for D12/CP3/DWill to end up in LA/Knicks.

I still bet the Lakers find a way to make it happen. Maybe to at least get DH.

Celtics will destroy the Knicks... Turiaf at center and then??? They better hope they can pick up a vet that gets bought out...

Wouldn't be surprised to see them put in a call to Portland about Camby. Billups, Balkman, and Williams for Miller and Camby would work financially. Williams is an expiring and Billups has a team option for next year so he is essentially an expiring contract. Would be an interesting option I guess.

All it takes is for Paul or Williams to demand a trade. Suddenly you're look at Billups, Fields, draft pick(s) for CP3/Melo.

That's not all it takes. . . I find it very unlikely for the Hornets/Jazz/Magic to just hand the Knicks an actual superstar for Fields and crap. . . they could probably get better deals from teams looking for rentals.

Prokohov knew he could force the Knicks into a bad deal. When he said no a few weeks ago he meant it, until time passed and he thought to himself,"how bad can I f**k the Knicks into overpaying for Melo". So they "joined the hunt again", offered a bogus 4 pick trade, met with Melo, released a press release on how he felt it went well. BOOM! Knicks roll 2 1/4 deep

Glad this trade finally got done today. Opens up the rest of the trade market since many things seemed to be on hold until the Melo situation finally played out.

NBA really needs to clean up this mess with players holding franchises hostage and manipulating their way around the league. Some owners will take a strong stand but judging by some of Stern's comments he doesn't seem to mind as long as ratings are up and there's some more attention---even though the majority of markets in the league and the fans in those markets are getting screwed.
