Sources: Nets, Nuggets reach agreement; now it's up to Carmelo Anthony to say yes

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Holy shit they got all that for Melo, if LeBron had been going to Miami from the start. ..... screwed us in the ass.

I just think it's funny that Carmelo was going to sign with them in the offseason and he wasn't going to any other team. Not even New Jersey IMO. So why would the Knicks trade more than 50 percent of their team for a player they could of got for less if they waited closer to the trade deadline, imo or signed as a free agent? The Knicks FO got played.

I was thinking the same thing. I wouldnt be surprised if Den and NJ got together and planned this to an extent especially with this new talk of the new Nuggets getting flipped for picks to Jersey. You gave up your young players, weakened your bench significantly, traded draft picks, traded a project center for Melo (who was gonna sign there anyway), Billups (34), Balkman (eh), and Carter (35)

So...does NY still have a team? Or are do they think the league is going the NBA Jam route with only two players on the court at a time?

I'm pretty sure Melo said it himself he was going to sign the extension this season, so if the Knicks didn't try to trade for him they could've lost the chance as he would've most likely signed the extension with the Nuggets or with another team. . . he really would've left way too much money on the table

That new Knicks team makes the Heat look like they have a deep bench. . . my goodness

He wanted to play for the Knicks once Miami did what they did and Amare signed with NY. IMO there was no way in hell he was going to sign an extension with NJ because point blank their team would be horrible. And he wasn't going to sign with Denver after all of this happened. I don't blame NY for making the deal because at the end of the day they got their guy but they gave up everything that made their team what it was.

Melo was playing other teams by saying he would re-sign with the Nuggets if he wasn't traded. Teams heard that and thought we need to make a trade now. In reality if no trade was made, we would still be lookin at a Melo free agent in the off season.

Walsh wasn't the one making this deal for the Knicks

Donnie Walsh will not be the GM after this debacle of a deal... He will ride out this contract and leave, book it... This is Dolan all Dolan and maybe a little Thomas too...

So, what do the Cavs get.......?

Why is Broussard getting the credit for this? Was he the first person to read the article through the Denver Post or NY Times?

Donnie Walsh just said this was all Dolan, Isiah, Leon Rose and WWW.

He's washing his hands of this mess of a trade.

Why wouldn't he? All the Knicks had to do was sit on their hands for half a season and they could've had Melo for nothing like Miami did LeBron/Bosh. Instead, they're left with a bunch of vets and literally no bench depth. God help them if the exceptions get taken out of the CBA. This move has Isiah's stink all over it. It's amazing how long it took Donnie Walsh to fix his mess and then Isiah sneaks back into the picture and blows it all up in one trade. Hilarious.

I don't know. . . I think that if the Knicks really knew he was going to sign with them, they wouldn't have made this trade.

I'd actually have more respect for Melo if he joined the Knicks to try to compete with Miami but it seems clear he is just all about the $$$

I hate this because the more I think about it all this means is Chris Paul or Deron Williams will certainly be going to NY when they are free agents. Screw the new NBA.
