How in god's name do you gather this from a teaser trailer with next to no dialogue?
I need
dialogue to critique
cinematography?
C'mon Stereo...
I can appreciate disliking JJ Abram's past work. I don't,
Stereo, I could go down the list of movies he has directed and literally all of them are have a very similar stylistic tone, narrative, and style of direction. Which can be expected, that is uniquely his style.
His style is so unique, that it is easily identifiable and it leaves and undeniable mark on his films.
So when you say to me, "I enjoy JJ Abrams movies," I either immediately think (1) you're a popcorn blockbuster movie viewer and not really paying attention, which is fine, go enjoy the ride; or (2) you don't take his movies as seriously as some others might. Either or, it's all personal preference so thats okay too.. But don't tell me Abrams' work is good storytelling, or good filmmaking.
But you guys are hilarious in this thread. "Han Solo hasn't changed his clothes??
It's a valid point; why
hasn't he changed his clothes?
If past is prologue then what should we expect from Star Wars: The Force Awakens?
"Remember the underwear girl from Star Trek??
You watched the movie; you don't even know who she is...
You're proving my point.
This Star Wars movie is most likely the same."
The same as all his other films... ??
Yes, most likely.
If Steven Spielberg were to release a trailer for a new movie; going in, would you honestly not expect to see his style in the movie - the same style from his previous films?
Twitter culture.
You got me fucked up, bro... I don't tweet shit, I'm not a social media guy.
