Sterling surrenders control of Clippers to Shelly (pg 35)

Re: So Clippers owner Donald Sterling is extremely racist

That's weak. Doesn't bullying involve *repeated* acts of aggression towards someone, either physical or verbal? With the intent of causing intimidation or harm?

That is not what Shaq did. His actions could be considered offensive, but they're not bullying. l I don't understand why people purposely misrepresent situations to get themselves or other people angry.

I'm sure the criticism Shaq has received for this has ALREADY been a learning experience for him. It wasn't a hate crime.

It's time to quit with the mob and pitchfork mentality and recognize when it's time to let things go.

I don't know. If I call someone a fat ass on the street does that not make me a bully? Even if I have never called someone fat before in my entire life, vut just decided to that day for kicks, I don’t think it would matter to that person. They have likely spent their entire life with the fat jokes (or in this case ugly). You add in to that that shaq, one of the most recognizable people on the planet said that, not to this persons face, but in a public, very public spot for the whole world to see, and I think it is worse than a normal everyday bully that will likely be serving you hamburgers after highschool, don't you?

The situation is unfortunate.
But if you're calling a person a fatass on the street, your motive is to cause discomfort towards the other person and make yourself feel good...given Shaq's response to this situation, his intention in posting the pic wasn't to cause anyone discomfort or harm. That's the difference...and an important one, I think.

But more importantly, what kind of precedent is this setting? That your employer must penalize you anytime you say or do something that someone, somewhere may find offensive? Or is it that the number of people you offend have to be above a certain percentage before action is taken? Who is the arbiter on this?

I am sorry, but anytime you post a picture of someone and make fun of them, it is clearly to cause them harm in some way. It may not have been malicious intent, but the effect is the same. If I shoot someone in the leg, but I meant to hit the guy next to him, I didn't mean to shoot the guy I shot, but it still hurts him. This is how people commit suicide. They get pushed by people over their edge. Most people don't have celebrities making fun of them though, and certainly not in such a public way.

I would love to see shaq burn for this, he deserves it, if sterling does.

Edit: I think the arbitrator should be common sense. Don't say stupid things, don't get punished. If you do, the hammer gets dropped.

You don't make sense in that post other than a couple lines. I don't think you even believe what you said there.

The one thing I agree with is letting it go. He won't be punished. Sterling has been.

Man man. Dog dog. Dog no man best friend.

What you are saying is irrelevant.

Zero tolerance policy imposes automatic punishment for infractions of a stated rule, with the intention of eliminating undesirable conduct. Zero-tolerance policies forbid persons in positions of authority from exercising discretion or changing punishments to fit the circumstances subjectively; they are required to impose a pre-determined punishment regardless of individual culpability, extenuating circumstances, or history. This pre-determined punishment need not be severe, but it is always meted out.

Who said the league has a zero tolerance policy? You're just pulling things out of your ass now.

Anyone else notice the irony that a guy who changed his name to Sterling to sound prestigious had a guy named Silver be the one who banned him for life?

This is a coincidental situation and not an ironic one.

I'm confused, I thought Doc Rivers respected Shelly Sterling?

Re: So Clippers owner Donald Sterling is extremely racist

And Magic knows this how? Put on your tin hats. Magic buys the team, and Pat Riley and Lebron come to the clippers!

but seriously, Magic needs to STFU, or it will look like tampering, and open yet another legal path for Sterling(s). If he is discussing this with the players he is opening that door for no reason.

IMHO the league should settle with Shelly fast. If they dont they will have to fight three different legal battles. One fight will involve Donald, where the league has more weapons. But unless the league has a video with Shelly in a threesome, they really cannot impugn her the same way, so that fight will be on thinner ground. She is going to portray herself as innocent, betrayed by her slimeball husband and his gold digger 'archivist' . The league going after her ownership will look more like greed and less like protecting the league.

Even if the league wins, a divorce proceeding will delay a team sale three years. Cut a deal with Shelly, and you have one battle to win against a certified slime ball who has admitted he made the statements.

Shq owns less than 5% of the Kings. So he should be fined for making a facial expression?. Does this apply to all the Packers shareholders as well?

Are players boycotting the Kings because of this picture? did the kings get major sponsorship boycotts?

The NBA as a business dont give a Rats ASS about Sterlings views on race anymore than any of you care about what that guy is thinking next to you on the freeway.

What they do care about is big money. big money speaks and always will.

Now the whole Sterling farcse has become a pure power grab. As evidence by forcing out known "associate" Shelly Sterling.

Shaqs job is to entertain . He works for TNT on a "comedy" sport show. Which has nothing to do with the NBA. You want the NBA fining all stockholders with pictures with funny faces or doing anything in "poor" taste.

Do all of you really feel you should be fined or fired for things you do or say in your home?

Where were all you people when Sterling was sued for housing discrimination which is far more heinous than asking a hoe not to bring Magic Johnson to a game on his dime.

What'd you just get brought this info by horse-drawn carriage today?

This is older than tubgirl.
